I turned in my redetermination paperwork on time and you guys wait a month and half to let me know there was a problem with it!!! DHS doesn't care about the homeless or those trying to get back on their feet. No you guys don't care about the struggling people,your in your nice warm house with a pantry full of food. Try living on the street and only being able to eat 1 bowl of Ramen noodles every 2 days because DHS doesn't help the needy or struggling on the streets. I'm homeless, I get my mail at a friend's address, and have no place to cook or store food. I depend on the food stamps I get because otherwise I couldn't eat. And you guys don't have the decency to let a homeless person know what is holding up their food stamps!!! No your making me re-submit my redetermination paperwork even though all the information is correct. That is horrible customer service!!!!! But DHS doesn't care about helping people their more interested in getting you off the phone as fast as possible. Whoever is the director at DHS, they need a lesson in compassion, and how to show they care about those struggling outside just trying to stay warm and get something to eat. I see all the positive reviews and maybe I just got unlucky. However I almost NEVER leave reviews, but people need to know that these people are NOT helpful. I thought people in this line of work wanted to help people. That is not the case here. I came in to get help and had to pull the "May I talk to a supervisor" card to which I was just sent to another window. They told me they stop giving waiting numbers at 3:45pm and I got there at 3:47pm. They are supposed to be open until 4pm. No one told me prior about this 3:45pm rule and I got 0 sympathy, not even fake sympathy! These people have no compassion. If you can avoid this particular location, AVOID IT. Go somewhere that cares about helping...

I've been led on for FIVE MONTHS about them giving Me food stamps. When I finally called to see what was going on since I sent in everything they needed. I was on the phone for maybe 5 minutes before I got cut off and was told " you don't know what you're talking about and im putting you back in que because I can't deal with you".
