PET ZONE — Local services in Derby

I have not had the pleasure of visiting the store, however, I was able to purchase my sweet unnamed beardy online. He was shipped overnight with the utmost care and the communication with the representative was remarkable. Pretty sure I annoyed him a little bit, sorry, I can tell this little guy was handled a reasonable amount and was loved before he came to his forever home. He is not jumpy, loves being held and lives my shoulders and neck. This little guy is in great health. He is eating bugs and greens with no problem and is just a genuinely happy little dude. My daughter wants her own baby, I am thinking her Christmas gift, and if she gets her way I hope we can find her baby through PET ZONE. Thank you for your kindness and patience, knowledge and support. I was really excited to hear that a new pet store had opened in Derby, and I looked forward to supporting a local business. After visiting twice and inquiring about a specific dog food brand, I was told both times that it would be ordered soon, as several customers had apparently asked for it as well. However, on my third visit, I was informed by a staff member that they would not be ordering it due to lack of shelf space, which was disappointing, especially since I had called earlier that day and was told by another employee that the brand was available at the store. I understand that not every product can be carried, but I wish there had been better communication among staff and more clarity with customers. It’s a bit frustrating to be told something will be ordered, only to later be told it won’t be. I hope they improve communication...

I went today to check it out. I saw amazing reviews and was looking for a new pet. I got there and stood in front of the birds and lizards for about a half an hour. Trying to decide if I wanted more birds or another bearded dragon. I wanted to support a mom and pop shop that just opened and to my surprise I stood in front of the animals for 30 mins. There were two associates working, neither said hi or acknowledged me. I walked around a bit and still nothing I realize they made two sales with the customers there but I was looking at buying the 3 love birds and maybe a bearded dragon. Based on my experience and the lack of attentiveness I won't be going back. I wish them the best being a small pet shop but I will continue going to...
