A nice little museum for the historic Galloping Goose #5, a 1930s rail bus made by the Rio Grande Southern railroad to help save on costs to move people and mail or light freight from town to town. If interested in railroading history or looking for a place to learn about local history this is a great place to drop by. During big town events they may even start up the Goose and run it on the few hundred feet of track back and forth. The museum also has a little gift shop where memorabilia can be purchased. Employees are volunteers and are very nice and informative. Ask to take a closer look at the Goose while there for a more thorough tour and keep updated for dates when they take this train to other narrow gauge railroads such as the Durango and Silverton R.R. or Cumbres and Toltec Scenic R.R. Very helpful, enthusiastic and informative staff, they gave us great personal attention and were very knowledgeable. A short tour and visit, 15 to 60 minutes, depending on your interest and questions for the staff. Nice souvenirs, books and maps for sale in the gift shop. I think it is free, as I don't remember paying for anything...
