My husband and I were searching for something to eat this evening and happened upon The Depot. I ordered a chili cheese dog with mustard and onions, along with onion petals. He ordered a regular hamburger with cheese fries. We both drank water. The place was busy, but our orders came out faster than I though they might. My hotdog was cold. It wasn't even hot enough to melt any of the grated cheese on top. The chili didn't sit right with me and made me feel sick. I couldn't eat my hotdog. The onion petals were good, but they forgot to include the ranch dressing in our order. My husband went back inside to ask for it. He said his burger was hot. The cheese fries were good. There were two girls inside handling the front. One was busy busy, the other standing by the phone doing nothing. I didn't complain about the hotdog to the staff because it just didn't seem worth it. I didn't want to order anything else because my stomach was already getting upset. This place isn't fancy. Plenty of seating and dog-friendly outside. They brought our dog a bowl of water, which we appreciated. Everything is served in paper or styrofoam, all plastic utensils, easy throw-away stuff. I doubt we'll go back.

Locals definitely know this hidden gem in Dolores, CO but if your ever traveling thru, stop by the Depot to grab a quick bite. The Tacos are awesome! I especially recommend the Green Chili Burrito paired with the tacos for a hungry appetite. All orders are freshly made and they offer a quaint and hometown feel. Depot delivers on providing great service, fast delivery of orders and has a wide selection on its menu to satisfy any appetite. Currently accepting call in orders, there is a outdoor patio area to eat and separated tables indoor. They are currently following Covid-19 recommendations in their restaurant. #supportsmallbusiness

I found the Depot in Dolores Colorado and love it. This place is a hidden gem for the traveler. Easy access while passing through town and they offer a great variety of sandwiches, tacos, loaded, tater tots, and so on. They make an amazing milkshake that taste like, it was made from scratch. Two milkshakes, a burrito, a taco, tater tots and a grilled cheese for $26. The price was great and the food was quick and well worth it. Super great people and a highly recommend you check it out if you’re passing through town and are looking for something quick and easy to eat.

  • 2nd visit update*

Much better experience this visit. Katie took our order and gave us a big smile. The food was better as well. I had the Green Chili Philly and queso tater tots and really liked them. The others with me had the 3 taco special and a Mushroom Swiss burger on GF bun. No flies and everything was much better all around.

I was really excited after reading some reviews for this place. It is a neat stop. The burgers were just OK. They are very thin, so not the hearty, juicy burger I was hoping for, unfortunately. The prices are good. The woman that took our order seemed annoyed and never even smiled, she hardly made eye contact. The woman that was helping was very friendly and smiled and made great eye contact. They have a lot of flies inside which was a bit annoying. They do have fly strips on the windows to try to capture them. The decor is pretty awesome from outside to inside it is very authentic and fun. They have a variety of choices and next time I would try the Buffalo or Elk burger I think. I wishes I had enough room to try their Churro Donuts as they looked Amazing. I would go back but knowing what to expect and better what to order. One of my girls had the tacos and said they were very good. All in all a good experience, I think I had my expectations too high for...

I called in a take out order at 6:40 and upon showing up at 6:50 the place was empty. They were cleaning the grill and sweeping floors while they are obviously still cooking food. We assumed that the cold shoulder came from the staff wanting to close it down. An out of state family asked if it was too late to order. It was 6:55 at this point and they turned them away. I ordered a cheeseburger and small malt. My burger . This thing literally started crumbling it was so dried out and crunchy. Almost immediately after trying to eat a bite I was so nauseous. I vomited numerous times. If the posted hours are open til 7:30 the whole place shouldn't be almost blacked out. I paid $21 for a single cheeseburger and small malt. The cook was scrubbing the grill. Made me question how old that burger was and how many times it had been reheated. Won't return until something changes. Very disappointed in how the staff made us feel like we were an inconvenience. When we apologized for ordering food 45 minutes til closing time we just got a not so friendly "it's ok" back while kitchen...
