Trap and skeet. Be aware. I purchased a trap and skeet card with nine 25 rounds + 1 free about one month ago. Today after a couple of hours spent on the rifle side, I decided, to go and use my trap and skeet card. It was my very first time. I asked Rangers on site to assist me at that regard. I have to say that they were very helpful In advising me to start on the easier trap side than on the more difficult skeet side where targets were at times, double crossing. So I did. At the trap side, the Ranger was compassionate and willing to help when I informed them that it was also my very first time. Few minutes later he came with a tape measurer accompanied by another Ranger and as the barrel of my Benelli M4 measured 18 Inches, he told me very apologetically that the Minimum length allowed is of 20 inches and that therefore I could not participate in such shooting game. I decided then to go back to the Sales office for a refund as I never used such card having nine rounds +1 free due to a policy of which I had no control and of which, very importantly, have not been made aware of from the get-go, at the time I purchased such shooting game. To my surprise, both employees and the supposed Manager, refused to refund me. They claimed that such card never expires and that I could have always rented their firearms along with their ammo. I told him that I have plenty of ammo and that I’m more than happy to have them inspecting them for appropriateness. They declined even such offer from me. I told them that they should’ve had a sign in capital letter saying that in order to purchase such shooting games it was necessary to own a rifle or carbine having a barrel length of at list, 20 inches of length, as otherwise Customers will be at all the times unaware of such important detail, which could have refrain them from such purchase if their gun did not qualified, as in my case. I may complain to the Better Business Bureau at disregard as I believe I was treated extremely unfairly, as no proper informed consent was provided to me at the time of my purchase. Govern...
Read moreI've been going here for a while now and so far I have no complaints. There is always something everywhere you can pick on but overall I enjoy this range more than others. While there is a mandatory safety coarse for your first visit and for renewing your permit. It is by far cheaper than all the other ranges around my area. The environment here is relaxed because time pressures are not so big compared to other ranges you pay for an hour only, reloading magazines in a rush and when shooting the nagging sense of a timer ticking away. Being outdoors is a bonus, not having to depend on the facility having good ventilation for a host of health reasons. You also get for rifles 100 yards. Something hard to come by in my area in general. It is worth the 5 Stars in my opinion. Good people, good prices, and located in an area that is halfway to many people.
If you want some of the nitpicking, they could label on the rifle side the lanes better. At 100 yards it is hard to tell where your lane is if you tried walking a straight line. Not a real big issue since you can figure it out rather easily with some basic logic applied. For some people I hear they wish they had a better on site store for targets, ammo, and other things. Honestly I don't consider this place a store/range only a range so I don't see why some people have gotten worked up over that. Not like they are going around promoting a store. The fact they have anything at all to offer is a plus in my book. For ammo people can drive over to the nearby gas station if that desperate, they sell ammo in there apparently.
If you're still pondering the decision, at very least drive down there and just observe, talk to some people. They have picnic tables there...
Read moreI've been here quite a few times. It's close to my house and convenient. The customers you meet (should you choose to engage in conversation) are kind and helpful from my experience. I've never had a problem with customer service. Nobody has ever hovered over me or yelled at me for any reason as others have experienced. I generally shoot at the rifle range, which might be why. Looking around, I can see that the rifle shooters are usually a bit more experienced than some of the pistol shooters. If you get yelled at or one of the employees stops you from shooting to tell you something or correct something you're doing, it's pretty likely that you're doing something wrong and you're not realizing it because you don't know better. There are several reasons for the 4 stars instead of 5. I'd love to be able to shoot steel targets instead of just paper. Paper is great, but it gets boring after you've shot enough and gotten as good of groups as you're going to get with your rifle. On a similar note, I wish I would be able to shoot faster than just 1 shot every 2 seconds, should I choose to do so. Again, better for accuracy and suits bolt action rifles, but if you also own an AR, you'd want to shoot more rapidly should you so choose. Last reason is distance. The only other range in south florida that let's you shoot further than 100 yards is Homestead Training and boy do they know it. Their prices are atrocious and force you to pay for a year membership ($250) to be able to pay to use the 500 yard range. Their normal 100yd range prices are ridiculous too, at $25 for 2 hours for non members. They do let you shoot quickly and shoot steel...
