La Brisa Restaurant — Restaurant in Florida

I wanted to give this restaurant a try having seen that it was recently opened. Unfortunately my experience wasn’t that great. Firstly, in general the restaurant is a bit noisy. We were seated near the kitchen and where the food was being finalized and run. Our server was very polite but seemed to be more concerned about ensuring that we understood the portion size instead of selling the menú items. We ordered the bacon and the shareable octopus appetizer. The bacon was delicious although the bbq sauce was cold on the plate as well as cold on the bacon. I didn’t enjoy this dish as I thought the bacon was undercooked for my taste and I wished it was hot. The octopus was on a bed mashed potato that for some reason was extremely sour. It included grilled potatoes and vegetables that seemed odd. The octopus itself was not overcooked. Our entrees were the 24 hour braised short rib and mushroom risotto as well as the pollo asado. Chicken was good but came with an odd basic salad. Short rib was good but may need a bit more salt for my taste. Wish the plate was bigger in size (not necessarily the portion) for ease of eating it. Note that water was spilled on me, the table and my phone by staff while refilling. Someone dropped a rag on my phone and utensils to dry the table. I wasn’t sure if they expected me to clean it! Many apologies but not even a courtesy coffee or dessert...

I've had the pleasure of dining at La Brisa over 6 times, and I can confidently say that every meal has exceeded my expectations. The culinary team consistently delivers creative, flavorful dishes that leave me wanting more. The service is equally impressive. Every waitress I've had has been attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. The bartender, Maria, is a gem - her expertise and warm personality make the bar experience exceptional. I also appreciate the visible presence of the managers, who are always ensuring that everything runs smoothly and that guests are satisfied. Their attention to detail and commitment to excellence is evident in every aspect of the dining experience. My favorite dishes include the Carrot Cake, the fresh and savory Cobb Salad, the tender and rich Short Ribs with Mac, The Florida Snapper. Each dish is expertly prepared and presented. What sets Las Brisa apart is its consistency. Every visit has been a delight, with no disappointments. The meal was just ok nothing special. But the service was absolutely horrible! We sat waiting for our server to even acknowledge we were there. Crazy thing is we were the first ones in the restaurant. Finally he came over and filled our water glasses and was on his way. He returned a few minutes later and took our order. He didn’t ever ask us if we wanted a drink. Someone else dropped off are food and asked if we needed anything else. The waiter was just standing a few yards with his arms folded. At no point did he bother coming over to ask how are food was or ask if we needed anything else. He finally came over and asked if we were ready for are bill. Before he returned with the bill I told my wife I bet the tip as all ready on it. I was right they put 18% on the check. We had to give this lazy moron a 18% tip. What’s his real moderation if he knows he’s going to get a tip and know was it’s for. Who ever came up the idea of putting the tip before they even gives you your check. The could say a lot more but why. The idiots reading this are probably the ones that came up with this stupid idea. And we never...
