If you are getting your RV repaired, keep looking. I started dealing with these guys about 5 years ago. I told them the trailer I was looking for. I made sure they knew it could be new or used. A few years rolled around, and I finally went to Atlanta and bought my first RV. I took this in a few times for work. I never argued over the repairs, or the price. Simply, if they said they did it, I paid the bill. They were not cheap. Last year I ran across a great deal on a new Keystone at Camper World in Dothan. Long story short, Camper World proved to me very fast their repairs are shoddy and could not be trusted. So, back to RV connection. I made sure the maintenance team knew why I did not buy from RV Connection and was looking for a good long-term relationship. Last year we made plans to bring my new RV in for annual repairs. In December, they said I could bring it on Jan. 3 or 4. They promised me it would be out the following week. Needless to say, the next week came and went. The trailer was still on the back lot. We got a hard freeze, and snow. Now I was told my hot water heater needed to be repaired. No problem, put it on the bill. The next week, three weeks into the saga, I was told another unit was taken in before mine. No reason was given. Two more weeks, still they had not worked on my unit. Annual maintenance is roof, AC, gas, and other things inspected. After I went to the facilities manager, and was referred to the service center manager, I was still waiting. The service center manager had a bad habit of giving one excuse, then a day later saying he did not say what you just heard. I finally picked the unit up the last week of February. We had canceled two trips because of RV Connections not keeping their promises. Of course, the bill was high. April we finally were able to take the unit on a shake down trip to Cordell, Georgia. This is when we found out the AC unit RV Connections had inspected did not work. The unit is not even two years old. We could not stay that night in the unit. We just hooked it up and came back to Dothan. The next week I took it to Headland. They said the AC unit needed to be replaced. GE replaced the unit under warranty. I do not want to think that RV Connections had sabotaged the AC unit. That we just had a bad Keystone AC. So, my take is if you want work done on your RV, there are other places in the area besides RV Connections. That's where...
Read moreI posted the following review in July 2017 when this business was known as Runaway RV. If the management or mechanics have changed (or if my review had any effect) the following may not be an accurate reflection of the current performance of RV Connections.
EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND A GARBAGE PRODUCT! I dropped off my RV asking for an apraisal of work to be done. They said they would call me back. They never called me. I called every week asking for the price, but was told they didn't know get. Then, after a month they say that my RV is done, except for a small trim piece. I still hadn't asked for them to work on it! The manager says the price should be low since they couldn't replicate the issue with the thermostat and no work was done. Three more weeks go by and the trim still hasn't shown up. They say there is "no possible way for us to tell when it will show up". Finally, I get ahold of them one day this past week and they are rude on the phone and say that it is done and that we need to hurry and come pick it up. Then they tell me that it is going to cost $700! After asking to be transferred away from the rude employee, a manager gave me the breakdown of the price, explaining that they charged: $59 just to look at the thermostat and say that it seems to be working (and still doesn't work!) and $150 for a bathroom door that I didn't ask for them to buy and costed nearly $200 JUST TO HAVE SHIPPED! (and still doesn't close straight!) They swear that there is never any way for them to give any sort of estimate on shopping costs (as if they have never done a single transaction with that vendor or ever had a door shipped before). I never got a phone call update , any acknowledgment of fault or even a apology. Nothing.
And to top it all off when my wife brought it home this is the absolutely garbage product that I found. All of the seams mismatched, the corner trim half ripped off, the door doesn't close straight etc...
Please tell your friends that this is the worst maintenance decision you can make your your RV, your wallet and your sanity! Do not support this...
Read moreBought a new Heartland Cyclone 4006 from them in July. Drove from Missouri to pick up the unit, once we arrived they did a walk through with us. We were shocked at the condition the brand new unit was in, warranty paperwork ended up being a list of roughly 20 major issues. We do NOT hold that against the dealer, that is an issue with Heartland. Our issue with the dealer comes down to service and treatment while we were there and afterwards. We started out by doing a walk through, taking notes on those warranty items. Everyone to this point was very nice, the service people in particular. They told us multiple times, these issues would be taken care of. It was when we went inside to sign the papers, the conversation turned dramatically. We should of turned around and ran as soon as the general manager opened his mouth, because it was nothing but lies. Again we were told warranty issues would be taken care of BEFORE we would drive it off the lot. We were prepared to wait. However after signing the papers, they suddenly did not have adequate staffing and those issues would not be able to be fixed, as originally stated. To attempt to smooth things over, they stated we could get a write up of those warranty items for our records. Turns out they did not have adequate staffing for that either, a month went by before we even got that simple warranty list. The unit was missing the stairs to the rear patio and the ladder to the loft as well. Both the ladder and the steps were listed to be included. I feel giving them 2 months to "ship" us these items is very fair. Now when we call it is clearly not there problem, we've even offered to drive back down to pick up the items and have warranty work down there. I believe this is prime example of a dealership taking advantage of the market and lacking on customer service once a sale is complete. I partially blame ourselves as well, like I said we should of RAN when we felt pressured into signing. This businesss "word"...
