Food Depot — Local services in Douglasville

One bad egg...! For the most part all the people are very nice and very polite and helpful... But with that said there is always that one person who for some reason has a attitude about there job... my father in law who happens to be a war veteran and 20 year veteran of the Atlanta police and GBI was checking out when the person bagging his groceries placed something heavy on the bread he was buying... As he is a gentleman and all around nice person he asked the person bagging his things to please remove the heavy item from ontop of the bread and to please put it in a separate bag.... the bagger who then identifys himself as a store manager tells my father in law that if he doesnt like it he can shop somewhere else... My father in law stands up for himself and tells the so called management about himself... Laytawan the manager then tells him if he has a problem with what he is doing he gets off at 11pm and will be in the parking lot if he want to take care of it then... So he leaves the store and comes to my house a couple blocks away from the store to tell me about this rude manager... Apon hearing what happened i myself go to the store and ask to speak with Laytawan... He comes up with a attitude asking me "what do you want"... i calmly ask him what had happened between he and my father in law... He proceeded to tell me "ill tell you the same thing i told that old white man if you have a problem im off at 11pm" so me being the person i am i politely walked away and came back at 11pm to take care of business... i was met in the parking lot by laytawan who when i pulled up was all alone and very timid and scared when i comforted him about his actions... But in true coward fashion he got very loud and very tuff when his friends from work started walking up... I let him no that i was not going to be jumped by all of them and that i had my firearm in the car and would bot hesitate to use ot if need be... so as he made idle threats in front of his store in his food depot uniform i just laughed at his fake tough guy act and went about my night... a few weeks go by and this last sunday im at the gas station pumping gas i walk by him and dont say anything i come back out of the gas station walk by him again and dont say anything... But as,im pumping my gas he starts talking trash... Saying things like im a pu##y, im a b##ch, and a bunch of other things... I let i go for as long as i could until enuff is enuff... i walked around my car and gas pump to confront him only to see him standing there telling me lets fight now while he is holding a gun in his hand in the middle of the day while people are walking in and out of the gas station... it was a sight to see... Him standing there trying to act as tough as can be while hes dressed in his food depot uniform telling me hes going to shoot me... if you want to no what happened next just stop by food depot this week and take a look...

I really don't think I have ever been to a Food Depot quite like this one. First of all it's not made like most Food Depot locations. This one is modernized a bit. Huge automatic doors open up to an even bigger store. It just looks totally different as if this was an old Ingles or something. Immediately to the right is the produce section. Row after row of produce. They even have wagon displays with produce.

The next section is the wine section. Let me tell you.....I was sooooooo happy. Like I hit the jackpot. I say this because all my favorite ones were there and they were super cheap. I mean wayyyyyyyyyy cheaper than what I would find them for in Atlanta. The variety is impeccable. I can't say it enough. This is the spot to go to for a good selection of wine that will not break your pockets. I wasn't even interested in looking for food after I discovered the wine section....

This is not the Food Depot I remember! I know times have changed and prices have gone up, but Food Depot used to be a great cheap store clean quality food Quality Meat well this one was not up to anybody standards how they're standing business I do not know I put everything back and went to another store to shop because it was actually cheaper and it was a bigger named store chain. I just couldn't get over the meat I couldn't get over the lack of product I couldn't get over the overall cleanliness of the store I have lost my taste for Food Depot I'm sad to say that! When a bigger chain is cheaper and I don't want to mention their name but when it's cheaper have everything you need I'd rather shop there! I'm sorry Food Depot but you've lost me until you get correct and especially in that store because it's closest one...
