This place was pretty cool for a Christmas train garden! They had a wide variety of Christmas houses which my wife loved, a few local display items, and lots of generalized fun.
For the train lovers, they have a Union Pacific Big Boy steam engine running the outer loop and passes right in front of the window. It is a great opportunity for smaller kids (or adults that still have that spark...) to check out a truly massive model train. A scale model, its ~32 inchese long between engine and tender. Having an Allegheny I can say to really enjoy one of these you need an enormous amount of space. It was nice seeing such a large scale train on display.
The crowd ebbs and flows; you might get lucky with few people, or you might be crowded in with a bunch of people, but everyone is pretty calm and chill. It was worth the drive from Greenbelt to Dundalk, about 35 miles, and was a great...
Read moreThe Christmas Train Garden is amazing. I've been going to it since I was a kid and it gets more elaborate every year. $1 donation entry for 7&up is a steal for this amazing holiday display. There are lots of Baltimore venues recognized within the display, a circus/carnival/amusement park, waterside & bay features, snowy ski & lifts, city feature, countryside, well known kids characters, Halloween features, highway, tons of trains & tunnels, Santa with flying reindeer, day & nighttime lighting changes... It's amazing to watch. I take my kids now and travel over an hour to get there one way. It's so fun even if there's a crowd. During busy times just be patient and knew there's more to see while you wait for the...

I enjoy seeing the train pulling the different year car's behind it - this year it was missing. I also felt like there was less motion in the scenes than past years. The trains that were running seemed to be branded.. no classics like...
