Like most people that live in Eagle Grove, I simply can not support this store, only shopping there if I am desperate and have no other option. Store manager, Christopher Wayne Livengood shot himself in the foot when he made the horrible decision not to support the school district where his store is located in. Note to Chris: Not supporting our schools was arguably the stupidest decision that you have ever made. That decision (which was made several years ago) was extremely unprofessional, as a manager of a large grocery store chain for thirty years plus, you should have known better. Well you can’t change the past now but you can be certain beyond a shadow of doubt that, that decision has cemented a never ending negative spotlight on you and your store. Maybe the residents of Eagle Grove should start shopping solely at Hy-Vee in Webster City.
I shouldn't have to explain this to a sixty plus year old guy but here it goes: What you did would be no different than the Eagle Grove school superintendent deciding to open enroll his children out of district while the local community is paying for is salary. Our town residents had shopped at your store for years essentially paying your salary and then you give a huge fu©k you to all your previous supporters by enrolling your child out of district. In a small community or any community for that matter, your destine to failed if you do that sh!t. Like the old adage says: ‘If you choose the action, you must accept the consequences as well.’
Why do you think your three plus year long proposed community movie theater adventure was an embarrassing failure? No matter how much advertising you did, you hardly got any donations but you were able to get the funds needed for a similar project in the 1990’s in another Wright county community with 1,200+ less residents. Did it ever register to you that perhaps there was a reason why nobody wanted to support your idea? You have pi$$ed off more people in Eagle Grove than you will ever know thus you have lost more local business than you can imagine. You should be ashamed and embarrassed of yourself! Of the 42 years that you have work for Fareway, you have supported Grinnell, Marshalltown, Algona, Spirit Lake and Belmond but in Eagle Grove you have slapped every customer that has walked through your store doors in the face. You owe the residents of the community that has supported you for all these years a full-page apology along with a photo of yourself in the local newspaper. The residents of Eagle Grove will be very happy when the day comes that you no longer manage the 551-1 store! I hear Clarion Superfoods is looking for a floor manager that's right...
Read moreThe fareway store in eagle Grove is the one that I went to. The people are very nice there and the food that I have bought there has been good however I find their selection and a lot of their different categories is not a very large selection so there isn't a lot of variety either as a result. In their favor though it could have been that I was there at the wrong time to really have that variety and better selection because it was in between Christmas and New years. Their prices while they may be somewhat comparable to other places I feel the prices are still too high on much of their items. As I said though the store...
Read moreI tried to order online. It some how took one of my items off. It added something I don't even like. I specifically did a search for each item so there's no way for me to accidentally put it in my cart. I'm assuming a glitch. The thing I didn't like was charged to my card but they didn't even give it to me. My cart was correct when I went to go pay. I checked. How did it change?! I also didn't get another item I ordered. So it changed two of my items and then the workers forgot two of my items. From now on, I'm going to Hy-vee. They never screw up my orders and neither does their...
