The Capitol Theatre is a charming place to watch a movie. Details like the wooden, outdoor ticket booth, red carpeting, and the gold leaf ceiling in the lobby, take you back to a bygone era.
The old school decor doesn't mean the movie-watching experience is antiquated though. The screen I watched 'Malignant' on was decently sized and the projection quality was well-focused and vivid.
Even the sound system stood out due to its great clarity, bass & volume. One nitpick, though, would be that the volume was too loud during the trailers. But boosted audio during previews is an industry-wide practice, so this isn't the Capitol's fault, per say.
Another great thing about this theatre is that 3, out of the 4, screening areas have stadium seating. So you'll have a good seat wherever you sit. This seating arrangement isn't always available in smaller, non-chain (i.e. AMC) cinemas.
The Capitol Theatre has a nice design, superb acoustics, and sharp picture quality, but the friendly staff are arguably the best part of the experience. The staff will even tell patrons whether, or not, a movie has an end credits scene in an attempt to save them some time!
Plus, the ticket prices ($8-$10 a pop) are affordable; a rare treat in the, otherwise, budget-busting Vail Valley. But, don't take my word for it... Visit the Capitol Theatre in Eagle,...
Read moreThe Eagle theater was a very pleasant surprise. I did not expect a Denver quality front- range stadium seating theater in Eagle when friends suggested a weekend movie night recently. The popcorn was fresh and hot, soft drinks were icy cold, and, they offered cups of water without charge. "Think about that AMC and Cinemark!" However, the only minus ln my opinion with the Eagle Theater, was it's "cash-only" purchase policy. Very Un-cool! The folks in our group had to cobble our pocket cash together so we all could see the movie. Although, they had a ready to use ATM machine--paying ATM fees is not what I expected for a Town of Eagle movie night. Folks it was a very cold night, a great Eagle-Vail movie theater, hot popcorn, great friends, and a bad movie (LOL). Let me mention again the movie we watch was absolutely horrible!Nevertheless, we enjoyed the experience and talked about it over dinner. Thank you Town of...
Read moreWe came to watch Ticket to Paradise. There were teens being loud and disrespectful throughout the movie, even after being asked to please be quiet multiple times from different people who were trying to enjoy the show. They were in and out of the theater, we could hear them horsing around in the lobby too! Not a thing was done about it. Then when we were walking out after the movie the kids were getting their money back. We should have gotten our money back after having to deal with them. Some people's children.... SMH.... today's youth are being raised without decency or respect. Also around here they have a sense of entitlement... So sad! Makes a person never want to go to this...
