If I could give minus 5 stars I would. Purchased (pricey) table and chairs on 7/22. I will say the salesperson at the location near Shady Maple was much less pushy than the location down on 30. Wouldn't go back in there. Just shy of * 3 months * later (10-9) we finally get delivery. Or so we thought. All the seats of the chairs are not in the wood we specified. But we figured well at least we'll have a table now. Not so fast. The guys go to set the table on it's base, and the base is way too short. In fact it (the base) looked short from the moment they set it down. So no table either. (Remember that 3 month wait?) On the way out - they had already started driving away then stopped and came back - they offered to modify the table so it could be mounted to the small (I would like to say miniature) base. We immediately rejected that idea. 5 weeks go by. Yes, 5 more weeks. Finally they call and say everything is set. The chairs are redone and now correct, so they are good. But imagine our shock when they bring in the exact same base, with the table modified to sit on it! Let me be clear here. They set the table on the small base just to see if we might want it. It's clearly somewhat unsteady. If we were to insert the two leaves we purchased with the table, it would probably fall over with the weight of a typical dish plate being set on it. The support folks have been nice, and agree that this was not what was supposed to happen. But you know what, it is what happened, and it's...
Read moreMy first visit to this store in East Earl and it was awful! A week prior we visited the outlet in Lancaster and received amazing customer service. (didn't catch her name). We are shopping for poly resin rockers and the outlet did not have the color we are looking for. The nice lady at the outlet referred us to the East Earl store and said the prices are all the same between the outlet and the store. Diane greeted us at the East Earl store. We walked around the store and outside looking at what we intended to purchase and take home that same day. We noticed that the price of the rockers had gone up 100.00 from the week prior when we visited the outlet. We questioned Diane on this and even showed her the picture we took of the outlet rocker. Her ignorant response was "prices just went up today." Expecting another response from Diane that maybe we could work something out with the price. Instead she ignorantly said "oh well, bad timing" in a very abrupt tone. We were in awe and told her she was not polite and rather rude as a sales person and will never buy from Gish's if this is the kind of service we are to expect. Her response was clearly that she didn't want to help us any further. Perhaps because it was 5:30pm and the store closes at 6pm? Very disappointed in a business that claims to be the friendly Amish type. Friendly is not how Diane represented...
Read moreWe were looking for furniture for our family room and definitely wanted it to be made in the U.S. Gish’s in East Earl was our first stop. We told Shari that we just started to look. We did go back to Gish’s that same day, ordered a couch, love seat and a Windsor chair. Shari was a wonderful person to deal with!!! She was friendly, knowledgeable and extremely accommodating!!! Our furniture arrived about a month ago, the delivery was also without any issue. They were very careful with how they brought the new furniture into the house. At the time of the order, Gish’s was having a contest that if you donated $100 to one of their selected charities, we would receive 20% off our order. What a great idea! We donated the $100 to Pets for Vets, which in my opinion was an excellent charity. Found out later that Pets for Vets won the contest. That just really warmed my heart. Over 13 years ago we bought living room furniture of the Lancer brand from the furniture store that was located where the Gish’s East Earl store is now located. That furniture is still doing well! Our new furniture is also the Lancer brand. Gish’s and Shari at East Earl are definitely highly...
