I am so mad at what the decision makers for Penn has turned this place into. How they still have jobs is mind blowing to me. Every single decision is made off of a balance sheet and literally zero decisions are made with the customer in mind. This was once a great place to go out on a date or with friends. That is no longer the case. If you want to do anything but play slot machines (which don't pay) or table games, stay away. Let me give you some specific examples:

You open a sportsbook. Arguably one of the biggest days of the entire year is the opening day of the NCAA basketball tournament. Games start at noon and go all the way past midnight. Your genius decision makers decide not to open the sportsbook until noon and the tellers that cash tickets are gone at 10 pm. The one year the entire sportsbook closed before the late games of the tournament were even over!

Went to bet horses with my buddy a few days ago. Where do I even begin with this mess. First, it is plainly obvious horse racing is viewed as an annoying necessity for PN. They have to have it to keep their license, otherwise it would be gone. So, they go out of their way to make it as miserable of an experience for the horse bettors as they possibly can. Need a drink? Well, all you have to do is take an escalator down a floor, take an elevator down another floor (bc they disabled and blocked the escalator that would take you to casino floor), walk into the casino to go get a drink. Each and every time you want something to drink it's a 15 minute adventure. They have a bar upstairs but not worth it to them to staff it. The tvs they have for horse bettors are pitifully small and hard to see. They have the same tvs in there that were there since the place open many years ago. Again, why spend the money to update the tvs and make the experience better for the patrons? They once had a restaurant that was nice to go to, eat dinner and stay for the races. Well, that is boarded up now and space that could be converted into nice seating for the horse bettor is left abandoned. We paid for a "luxury" box for $25. First, the drawer on the table had an empty beer bottle in it so clearly it's not cleaned and the same tvs are in the boxes that were there since the track opened many years ago. It's just pathetic.

In closing, it is obvious they don't want you doing anything at their casino other than playing slots or table games. Mind you, the same slot machines where they willingly pay the fine to the state every year for not meeting the minimum payout standards other casinos adhere to.

I grew up going to PN and a lot of great family memories stem from trips there. To see how greedy and corporate this place has become is infuriating. Penn cannot sell this property soon enough. Hopefully the new owners, one day, will have a different approach and value the people that come to their establishment to spend...

I'm Elite status for Penn Gaming and have lost a lot of money here. I go often and feel they don't pay very well at all. The place is nice, but no hotel. There is a horse track outside around back of the casino. I've been going here for a 14 months and never won anything but 9k on a hit. Sounds like a lot to some folks, but not when you bet anywhere from $5 to $30 per spin and never hit more than 9k. At most casinos in the country, I bet the same and will win 1 in every 3 visits. Here, I've been counting and lost the last 7 times in a row. The freeplay is terrible too. Spend thousands every couple weeks and get about 75 bucks a week, LOL. I have been losing over 3k on some visits and they never pay back more than a few hundred to recoup anything lost. I've been here over 100 times and walked out a winner about 4 or 5 times. The math ain't mathing much here. The people are cool, including the guards, door guys, machine techs, servers, etc....Scotty the bartender is cool as a fan. He is really a good guy and works hard to make everyone happy in the high limit room. Other than the people and the location I'm not impressed. The machines are too tight and never pay me. It's extremely frustrating...so far for me, 3 out of 5 stars. I'll reevaluate in a couple months and report back. Edited: I played another 35k of my own money, made elite again, and here is an update from my 3 out of 5 star review. Now, I rate them 2 stars. I play often and still haven't hit but 9k on a hit. Playing 5 to 20 dollars a spin most of the time, I would expect to hit jackpots every trip just like I do at every other casino in the country. They've even went DOWN on my free play weekly as I go UP in my spending. This casino has the worst free play in the entire country. I attend most drawings and remind you I am ELITE! I've never won one single thing here. Meaning, I spend more than 90% of people in there, and haven't won anything in the drawings ever. With a handful of jackpots (most are barely at the jackpot level of $1200). I would like a study done at this casino to see if they truly abide by the minimum payout laws. I used to be a police officer back in Louisiana, and can tell you something is not right here. We (gamblers) keep going back and back with that hope of winning eventually but I am not sure I'll ever hit at this place. If I do, I'll update this post to the accuracy and truthful feelings to which I experience at this casino. Go look at all of my reviews. I have never seen anything quite like this place. I'll report back in one month. If nothing changes my review will stand...

My husband and I were going out for date night. There was a live band that was playing there, I do have to say that the music venues they put up there are really great. The facility isn't bad either it's an older one, wear and tear is to be expected always nice and clean. Especially the bathrooms. The employees there walking around are really nice. Smiles on everyone's face didn't hear anyone complaining about their job which was wonderful. So we went out for a date night, husband said he wanted a steak. He remembered that there is a steakhouse in the casino. One stop shop great music and food. We went to the steakhouse "Final Cut" understanding that it can be a little pricey. That's perfectly okay with us I'm happy to pay good money for good service and good food. We spent over $200 + tip. The drinks were mediocre, I am a cocktail drinker. My husband doesn't prefer drinks but I do enjoy my mix. The cost of them and the taste of them, I'm not sure that it reflected quite right, especially for the amount that you got in your martini glass. My husband ordered the prime rib at $57, I got their halibut which was around $40. My fish was on couscous which I have to say was cooked perfectly. I was really surprised that it was not mushy. The fish on the other hand, was so dry. I absolutely love halibut and that I have to say was the most disappointing I've had. We had Korean burnt pork ends for appetizers not bad well worth $14. I have to say that was the best part including the brussel sprouts. Those were the only two things that I wish we had ordered. I was sorely disappointed that we spent that much on a meal that I feel was lacking. We left there and I felt I had just wasted my money, I didn't say anything to my husband because I didn't want him thinking I didn't appreciate it. My husband has never complained about the places we've ate. Also the first time he asked me about writing my reviews. This one bothered him enough that in the middle of the night he turned to me and said I don't mind spending the money but I'm bothered by the fact of I don't feel it was worth what we paid. I think that sums it up. Definitely will head there for the music not sure about eating...

We attended the lantern festival at Hollywood casino. Very well coordinated, peacefully and orderly. We are one of the vendors. The organizers are very courteous and helpful. We would love to go back for the event. Strands by Jenny

With no idea what to expect, we were very pleasantly surprised by the outdoor venue on 6/21/24. Traffic was nonexistent as we entered (may have been because the concert was advertised to start at 5pm, then 6pm, and the Ticketmaster tickets said 7pm. When I called the casino to clarify, the gentleman who answered said he could confirm the concert started at 7pm, but the opener was playing when we arrived at 6pm). We were directed to park in a grassy field in view of the stage. Easy getting into the venue. There are several shipping containers set up as concessions/drink stands at the back of the venue. No vegetarian options other than fries, but they did have burgers, cheesesteaks, soft drinks, water, beer, wine, and a mezcal station etc. Directly in front of the concessions were two patio areas with hanging lights and some chairs and another tented area for shade, all accessible to anyone. The concert seating was fixed rows of reasonably comfortable chairs and all had good views of the stage and giant tvs. On each side of the front rows were raised “specialty areas” one of which I recall was called the Oasis, which I’m sure folks paid more to access. Porta-pottys, stationed on both sides of the venue (they had tons of them, regular and handicap accessible), were extremely clean and handwashing stations were stocked with soap and water. After the concert, we moved swiftly to our vehicle and left with very little traffic (may have been because attendance was approx 2500 for the 5000 capacity venue). Overall excellent experience.
