If I could give this auction less then 1 star I would. We came to this auction after thoroughly reading the car listings on the website. Every listing reported that the seller of the vehicles was the Commonwealth of PA, which gave the impression that we were either bidding on government cars or seized vehicles. We inspected the car in the lot and took notice that there was no leaking fluids and it started with no problems or smoke blowing out the exhaust. After winning a bid on this particular car, I was surprised to find out the previous owner was Faulkner Honda in Harrisburg. As we drove the newly purchased vehicle home we noticed their was little power, we could barely get above 60 miles per hour. After making an appointment with our local Mazda dealership, we were surprised once again, when we were told that someone put an absorbent mat between the engine and the bottom cover under the engine. This was designed to mask a major oil leak by absorbing all the oil that was leaking from the vehicle. We called Sal, at Manheim, and although he said, in future, they will no longer list the sellers for all the cars on the Manheim Keystone PA website as "Commonwealth of PA" being the sellers, there is nothing he can do. Sal said, "It is likely all the car dealers that sell on his lot do this type of Masking."...
Read moreVery unhappy with my purchase. I bought a 2004 Ford F150 in fall of 2017 at auction. The inspection was good until 08/2018. I went to get it inspected and I couldn't. There were holes hidden under the bed-liner, rusting spots hidden, there were exhaust leaks in several places. There were severe engine problems from whatever mechanic's temporary fixes. After paying about $5,000 at auction, I have since paid another $5,000 since August of 2018 making repair after repair just to keep it legal and on the road. This vehicle should never have passed an inspection when it was sent to auction. Someone slapped a sticker on it and pushed it out the door. Rip off!!!! We believed we were buying a Commonwealth of PA vehicle. But if this is so, the Commonwealth of PA duped us by masking mechanical issues just so you didn't know about the...
Read moreCan’t believe it. The PA state auctions are an absolute rip off. EVERY SINGLE vehicle I purchased has MAJOR issues and they were all sold as run+drive vehicles and had disposition reports listing as “normal wear and tear”. engines knocking, transmission issues, etc. unbelievable. They clean the cars and make them look nice, that’s about it. I wouldn’t trust PA or Manheim. Do yourself a favor and EXPECT major issues if you come here.
Not to mention the chaotic registration process that nobody knows how to go about (including their staff). Took me days going back and forth on the phone with their staff to register because nobody knew what they were doing. After it came time to pay for the vehicles, I waited on line for HOURS... I didn’t leave til after 8pm! I got on line to pay at 12!!!!!!!!!!
They also don’t take ANY...
