I have been going here on and off for years. The truth is? It’s not worth it. Since they are picky I only would take things to consign in new or like new condition. I always make sure it’s stuff they claim they take on their website. A lot of it was in perfect condition but they never took it. I understand they wont take everything that is brought in. However, it’s the lies and no transparency that is bothersome. I would ask why it wasn’t taken which is a reasonable question. I would be told they don’t take the brands or it’s years old. For example I brought a coach wallet that I bought brand new and took it in a month later. Still being sold in stores and they told me it was from a few years ago. Obviously you don’t know what you’re talking about. They’ve taken cheaper brands from target but nothing brand name I took there. They would claim I altered stuff or left it in the sun. As someone who has worked at a consignment store and retail it’s very unreliable here. I once was offered $3 for nike shoes and they sold the pair for $40. Also I had good experiences with Jill and Libby in the beginning but it’s 50/50 now. One day they could be nice other days they are extremely rude and unprofessional. They claim they don’t take older stuff but then you look around and there’s a lot of older stuff. It’s not consistent. I’ve brought in stuff and they say it would be a few minutes. Then Jill or Libby would say they’re leaving early and the younger girls working wouldn’t say anything. It never left the front counter so I know no one looked at it and they would say oh we can’t take anything. Seriously? They do a lot of gossiping at the front counter as well. It’s more of a clique environment than a business. It’s uncomfortable being in there. I brought in stuff to consign and they said they couldn’t take anything. I went to grab my basket and I saw American eagle jeans, coach wristlet and American eagle t shirt were missing. I asked they younger girl at the register and she said I didn’t bring it in. I told her I document what I take so I need my stuff back unless they’re buying it. She went back and found all 3 of my things in their “purchased” pile. She handed it to me and she didn’t say a word. That was the last straw for me. If I wasn’t paying attention they would have stolen my items. It’s been declining over the last few years. They claim they worked really hard and people should respect heir business and that’s understandable. Being unprofessional, rude and blaming customers and taking no responsibility is not a good business practice. They act very entitled and are willing to shame and be rude to customers and consigners they are not personally fond of. That is a awful way to run your business and gives you bad reputation. There are some great high end consignment shops in Lancaster county. This is not one of them.
As further proof: If you read the reviews here in the owners response her response is awful customer service. I’ve worked in customer service for 8 years and anyone who acted like that would be fired. She responded with passive aggressiveness and shamed the customer. She stated they are not a donate center for goodwill. Which technically yes, but on their website if they cannot accept or it’s not picked up. “We will return to you items we cannot accept. Items must be picked up same day or may be donated.” Also on their website it states “ Please read! There are many factors when choosing items to sell at our shop. Style, condition, brand .. and whether we may be filling up on certain sizes or styles. We never want to offend our customers whose items we cannot accept. It literally is the worst part of our job! Thank you for understanding.”As the owner said “Trust me when I say, no business would have appreciated what you brought and how you brought them” Now obviously I was not involved in the situation. However the owner has shown to shame customers, lacks customer service and empathy. Trust me, when i say your lack of transparency, empathy and entitled actions...
Read moreConsigners beware. They are very deceptive! My suggestion to you is to make sure they show you exactly what they are taking. It was my first time consigning at the warehouse consignment shop and I took in mostly all new with tags very nice items. She went through my items in the back room. when she was done said she took a small pile "for me" and pointed to a pile in the back room. She offered me $40 saying that she was offering me 20% of what she expected the items to sell for. I said your website says you offer 30-40% for cash ( not 20%). She said well we used to sell a lot of Lularoe but not as much anymore so we only offer 20% for that stuff. That made me think all of the stuff she was taking was Lularoe. But when I got home and went through my remaining items I saw that she had taken my brand new with tags $99.00 Ralph Lauren jeans, brand new with tags mens Carhartt pants ( which are also expensive), and those are just the two items I can think of right now while writing this post. Not to mention all the Lularoe items were new with tags.... $60 Harper sweater, $48 Lindsay, and so on. And she took more items than I thought she had. Of course it was difficult to see all the way in that back area ( I’m near sighted). Sure would have been nice if she had showed me exactly what she was taking and how many items. She took a lot for the lousy $40 she gave me. And it was not all Lularoe items like she led me to believe. I guess it's my fault for not asking her to show me what she was taking, but I never thought they would be sneaky like that. I guess I’m too trusting. Lesson learned! Needless to say I will never be stepping foot back in that store again. Not as a consignor or a shopper. I got ripped off big time! But on the plus side she did help me carry one of my bags out to my car. Maybe she wanted to help me get out of there quick before I realized exactly how much and...
Read moreI went to wearhouse consignment for the first time several weeks ago with a friend and I assumed they probably wouldn’t have much in my size (I’m a 2-3x). To my surprise they had a wonderful selection of plus size pieces and I was able to find a few things I immediately loved and wore several times in the subsequent weeks. It is a fantastic atmosphere of curated clothing at amazing prices. It’s not overwhelming at all and organized so well. I decided to make a second trip on my birthday to refresh my wardrobe. I reached out to Libby ahead of time and she kindly pulled a bunch of things in my size and had a seltzer waiting for me when I arrived. I found a huge amount to try on and while the fitting room experience can sometimes be stressful, Libby and the rest of the staff were extremely encouraging and affirming. They suggested I try a number of things outside my comfort zone which looked amazing! I walked out with a whole new wardrobe and a huge smile on my face for 150 dollars. The four dollar rack is unreal. Run don’t walk! As a busy mom who is used to online shopping for basics / doom scrolling late at night, this experience changed the game for me. I will henceforth be a devoted customer! ...
