To everyone reading this review if you have not been to Ultimate Authentics you need to go there at least once so you can experience the best card shop in Eau Claire. This is my own testimonial to how great of a place it is. I am a baseball fanatic and would consider myself a baseball historian of sorts. I love everything about the game and it is all I collect. I had a modest collection before I first went to Ultimate six months ago and now I have the beginnings of my own personal baseball museum thanks to them. Everything you see in the pictures came from them and it is at best 25% of what I have gotten there. Scott, Doug and Matt are all great people who know how to take care of their customers. Each one of them has helped to contribute to my collection. The Ernie Banks card in the front, the greatest player for my favorite team, came from Scott and is my favorite card of him because it captures his essence the best. The Roberto Clemente card, my favorite player and my sports idol, came from Doug and is the only and will be the only original Clemente card I will ever own because of the way Doug went about allowing me to buy it from him. The Eddie Vedder Cubs jersey, which combines my favorite musical group with my favorite team, came from Matt. I realize you're not walking into probably any shop and finding that item but Matt as a fellow Cubs fan knew how much it would mean to me and got it for me. None of the items in my collection are pieces I can retire with by selling them. I have no 1952 Topps Mickey Mantles or Shohei Ohtani RPA PSA 10's but what I do have is a collection of the game I love that makes me happy and it's all because of them. And it doesn't matter if you don't like baseball. Whatever sport or sports it is that you collect they can and will do the same thing for you. Don't waste your time going to the other card shops in Eau Claire or even in the general area because they can't offer the variety that Ultimate can. Yes they have done a lot for me so I'm going to praise them but I have been there enough times to hear enough people say that it was their first time in the shop and then within five minutes of being in there say this place is awesome. Do yourself a favor and go there and realize for yourself that it is and will continue to be the best sports card shop...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery small, cramped store. Smells like a musty locker room. The one chubby owner with the ball cap and long blonde hair was too busy playing with his Pokemon cards on eBay to help us out. Other owner with beard and mustache was friendly but disappeared on us. The kid was disappointed so we took him to another place. Overall, this 'store' was kind of a joke. Seemed like more of a pawn shop than an actual sports cards shop. UPDATE Hmm, nobody 'called me out' so I guess I was right C.O. (I'm upgrading you to a PSA 2 for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreExtremely overpriced cards. The dollar card box was filled with worthless base cards. The worst part was I bought a pack and It was already open. I didnāt realize until it was to late.
Edit - I get that prices are negotiable but some cards prices are so high I didnāt even bother asking. Definitely not a shop to go to if your looking for good deals. And the pack WAS open it couldnāt even had been a error on panini it was...
