Rudest staff I’ve ever encountered at a golf course. From the front desk, who apparently hates his job, and waking up early…to the ranger who wasn’t even present on the first tee. The rangers , come to find out, are out on the course playing golf, (poorly, I might add) hitting balls into neighboring greens, and not controlling the tee times, or pace, at all. One guy, in an orange “Oregon Beavers” golf cart, who I assume works there, started yelling at us, not realizing we were being slowed down by the group of people, walking ahead of us. After explaining that, he drove away yelling obscenities to himself. Being that he was older, and seemed to be lacking his meds, we just let it slide. We witnessed the same guy, picking up, and stealing, our balls, which have a very distinct, company logo printed, golf balls. Just unbelievable behavior! Then you get out on the course and it’s a dump. Giant puddles next to dry dirt patches, and leaves scattered everywhere. It’s almost like they were waiting for the last 4 leaves to fall before doing anything about them. They were also cutting the grass (if that’s what you wanna call it) while teeing off, on multiple holes, with a giant machine that left tire marks everywhere it went. The sprinkler system on over half the holes, flood the pathways, and you have to drive around them, to avoid getting soaked and ruining your bags and person. The golf cart path, is lopsided and unsafe. Some areas have such a lean to them you feel like you are going to flip the cart. Almost 45 deg angles going left on right hand turns. It’s laughable, it’s so bad. You have to drive thru 4-5 different trailer park neighborhoods, with poorly marked signage, placed on the wrong (left side) of the road. Where in America do they do that at? Their bar and restaurant wasn’t open the entire time we were there. No cart drink service to be seen. Not even once! The nicest thing about this is the practice putting area. Just really poor ran course that I will avoid from now on. You can just see the lost revenue throughout the entire experience. Hiring people who are qualified , could turn this place around, but it’s probably gonna cost a little money to fix the problems. This is why only collecting green fees during an entire round of golf, seems counterproductive. Unfortunately, I won’t be back to see any improvements, based on the behavior, we witnessed, and experienced, while we were...
Read moreNice design but will never play there again. The best part of this course is the friendly check in guy in the pro shop, then the price was very affordable. This by far is a local golf course in a retirement community, jeans/ tee shirts and flip flops. I kid you not, the worst part is the course was green with 2 inch fairways and 2-4 inch rough . Without doubt they haven’t mowed in weeks including the green. The holes we were warned out and the green were no more than 6-7 on the stimpmeter. Wide open and designed for 20+ handicappers, we spent most of the round looking for our balls right next to the fairways. It was a disappointment for my last round in AZ. If the fairways and greens were cut this could be...
Read moreI booked a tee-time online, but when I checked in, the reservation was not showing in the clubhouse system. So the club pro, Eric, carefully reviewed the situation, and honored the 1:10 t-time. Eric offered a solution, and saved the day! My playing partner had driven 1.5 hrs to play golf with me at Pueblo. I live in Taiwan, and we were having a golf reunion.
Fun golf course, excellent tees, fairways, greens are true, nice speed. The rough is dormant, but not an issue for us. We also enjoyed the fish fry at the restaurant afterwards.
My experience at Pueblo El Mirage was that the people go out of their way for you, and treat you as a special guest. I shall return for more...
