Story: Website says 'in stock'. I can't find. Ask employees. Yeah, we're out of those (don't even bother checking), the inventory is wrong. I ask: If you know you're out, why not correct your inventory so folks don't make a trip for something you know you don't have. Emp: We don't have any control over that. You should have called before you came. Me: Seems it would be more simple to correct the inventory. Employee. You have the day you deserve. Me: (biting my tongue and taking a deep breath). If you can't correct inventory, I'm willing to bet your manager can. The problem is that you know you don't have any hydrants. By your response when I asked, you also know that your inventory is incorrect. But it's my fault that I made a trip and I should have called to verify your inventory. If you have all that time available to run around checking inventory, surely you can find time to find the person who's responsible for correcting your inventory when you discover it is wrong? Thereby making all that additional labor unnecessary? I don't know if this store needs new employees or new management but I DO know there is a problem that needs to be addressed.
