Had put some item on layaway from a road trip going through. Returning to the store from another state is a 3 hr drive which I didnāt realize because itās in the middle of nowhere. I work a regular job 12 hr days. I took off my job early to make it to the store before the 7pm cutoff to get the layaway out. I arrive 20 min prior to 7pm to get greeted with a single cashier at layaway/returns with a long line because some people donāt believe in phone technology and banks to cash their checks. Took way too long to process on top of other people returning and exchanging stuff. I get there to just pay to get my stuff out so I can leave and not see this backwoods Walmart after this. Finally get to the register it turns 7:01 pm was told I canāt pay to get my stuff out because I showed up to the counter past 7pm which is not my fault. If they have a working camera they could see I was standing in that long line way before time. A manager did recognize I was standing in line way before 7 and had to get involved to get them to do the transaction. If I had to get off work early to drive 3hr to get there 20 min prior to wait āIām getting my stuff outā. Worst experience ever, there are a lot of stockers but not enough to do returns in a efficient manner or designated area such as electronics which I was trying to find a worker who worked...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt is evident that there is a need for significant improvement in the customer service training at this particular establishment. The young employees seem to be idle and unproductive, which is unacceptable. It is essential that there is proper coverage when employees go on lunch breaks, so customers do not have to search for assistance. Cashiers should not redirect customers to customer service if no one is available to help them. In fact, I personally asked a young man working there to find someone to assist me, and it is disheartening to hear that he did not fulfill this request. This negative experience is precisely why I dislike visiting the Walmart in Elberton, Georgia. It appears that the young employees are solely interested in receiving their paychecks, and I sincerely hope that the young lady who made the comment about me reads this message. Furthermore, the jewelry department lost a $200 sale due to this poor level of service. As someone who has worked in retail customer service for over 30 years, I can confidently say that this is one of the worst experiences I have encountered. It is regrettable that I am forced to give at least one star to save this post, as it was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery busy and not enough lines open. Self checkout plenty of but l don't do self checkout for 2 reasons. 1. It takes away jobs. 2. They should offer some kind of discount off your total because each person that uses them save Walmart money by them not having the amount of lanes open that need to be to take care of their customers. It's like care for the customers has gone out the door since the founder passed away. He cared about not only his employees but most importantly his customers because he knew that the customers is what keeps their door's open. Kmart started not caring. How many of those left now? People that are old and disabled shouldn't have to wait so long in line because there's only 2 lines are open because they would love to push people to self checkout and that's not going to happen with me. Start giving a discount to the one's who use self checkout then l might. I don't intend to make the rich richer because to them self checkout means saving money for them. That doesn't set well with me. I'm not a Walmart employee so l expect to have a employee ring up and...
