Thom's Comics & Collectibles — Local services in Elgin

Thom is very nice and helpful. I saw a lot of comics that I've been wanting and some I've never seen before. I also, saw some comics that were cheaper at Thom's than from what I have seen on- line. He also had some recommendations that I didn't see (but will be going back for). I walked in to browse and walked out with two graphic novels for only $30 bucks (Batman's "Noel" and Joker Greatest Stories Ever Told). He also does pre-orders. I will be going back. You can spend a couple of hours of true browsing. *Make sure to bring cash. If you forget, there's a ATM next store. It's so nice Elgin can still have a comic book shop after all...

This place is great. I called 5 stores in the area asking for Doomsday Clock issues 7-9 first print to update my collection but no one had them. If they did have them it was a second print. I called Tom and he said call him back in 5 minutes so I did and he came through. He had all three issues. I will be coming here for future business, it is a bit of a drive but worth it. He had a large collection of statues, action figures and comics. If you are in the area stop in and look around you will end up buying something it's hard not to. Thanks again for the issues and I look forward to the stopping in to pick up the remaining...

It was my first time coming to this store and I had so much fun digging for books! He has excellent prices compared to other comic stores. He let me look for a while on my own (which I love, he was not rude or clingy) , and then asked if I needed help. He even took notice of the kind of books I was interested in and made a stack of similar books to show me that he pulled from behind his counter! One inconvenience is he only accepts cash, but after seeing how fair his prices were, I was more than willing to take a quick trip to the bank. I intend to visit this store...
