Have Lived in ELGIN for many years, I know of a BOMB concha or just bread in general, sweet and nonsweet when I taste it! This place has become a staple for just that! For years now, it’s been a struggle to find good quality bread or should I say specifically conchas. Most bakeries want to rip you off, leaving very hard, stale bread on the shelves just to sell, and I get that you wanna sell it, but when it’s old just toss it out. All in all the place was very clean. It’s not very big or has every corner filled with shelves of bread, but has a good enough assortment and that’s OK because sometimes those are the most delicious and have QUALITY. If you know The area then you must know how hard it is to find good bread! As a bread fanatic firsthand, I can let you know that even the nearest by bakeries from this one, including the very famous azteca bakeries and pastigel bakery (on the same street) ever since covid, new owners, new staff, and just to gain money, everything about them is just trash and don’t deserve anything for trying to rip off the public. But anyway, if you want greatness, this is the new spot to gain great clientele so go please support they are gonna need!! Id hate another great potential bakery to go out of business just because it it is not in a spot that has high traffic area unless you live around there it is by dairy Queen and the fire department on Chicago Street close by Abbott middle school. My husband and I live just a block away and were so excited to see a bakery open walking distance from us! Our visit was great. Everything was nicely displayed, looked fresh, and smelled delicious. The cases were clean and there was plenty of room inside to move around. The woman who helped us was kind and answered all the questions we had. There were people in the back working, listening to great music, and seemed to be having a good time! We got an assortment of different cookies and muffins - everything was excellent! There's so much room inside - they should put little cafe tables and chairs and maybe serve some simple coffee!!! We will be back! Hope to see you...
