I asked for a receipt and he became rude!!! I went to Downtown Portsmouth farmer's market which is typically a good experience. I came to this establishment to purchase about 4-5 peaches that came up to about $14+ at the end of my transaction I asked for a receipt as I always do when I purchase from several vendors today. The guy states you have one from the number you used. I kindly stated it hasn't shown up yet. He proceeds to say yes it did, I show him my phone he proceeds to say yes you did. I said you dont have to be rude im just asking for my receipt as I have purchased from several vendors today and would like to keep account of my spending, he proceeds to ramble rudely but still no receipt. Due to his rudeness over something simple I said well I just return because it's uncalled for. So I stated I need my return receipt he throws his phone on the table and say see its done. I proceeded to ask for return receipt. After he send it (which I did receieve) but never received the initial purchasing receipt which means he never sent it..he proceeds to say you can carry yourself up the road. My children and my mother was around at the time my oldest heard how rude he was and stated he could've have said things differently. How can a business be rude to consumers just for asking for a reciept (when we have every right to) who would've happily support and purchase produced. I was ready for those peaches... Never again!!! Looking over my return receipt he didnt even refund me the whole amount. I will be contesting with my bank the other portion of the fee that wasn't returned.
**I understand you are trying to damage control, and you may try to disregard the actual situation that occurred, however, you are right customers were around and some of them left when they saw how he talked to me. Conversation was simple on my end, waiting for a receipt doesn't cause harsh communication on the consumer part but talking to a consumer as if they would have to lie about receiving a receipt would warrant harsh communication and this is why I asked for a refund then he became more aggressive with his talk and actions. Bottom line is, there is no excuse for either myself or my 12 year old son and other consumers to have to witness or encounter such behavior over asking for a receipt. The fact that he threw his phone down on the table in front of me and says "there it's done and told me to "carry myself up the road" is not business like in any manner. I stated things were good until I asked for a receipt (that still never came across my phone) but you state it could have been due to a delay. Well what happened to the delay when I immediately received a refund receipt after requesting for a refund and asked for a refund receipt. Sometimes things just have to make sense and in this case with you trying to justify his behavior makes no sense. Just warning the community in which I live in and which your business chose to come to to make business from. Just very disheartening. I attend these markets and I have never experienced this behavior from...
Read moreI cannot express how meaningful Brothers Farm Market is to my family. Every year we participate in their Community Supported Agriculture weekly produce boxes and receive a large variety of local gorgeous produce every week for my family to enjoy. During early summer, they have fresh, plump strawberries ripe for the picking and boy are they good! My kids love picking their strawberries and the price is always fantastic. They also have a variety of pick-your-own produce such as squash, tomatoes, and even sunflowers at the end of summer! My favorite time of year is the beginning of “Spooky Season.” In preparation for Fall, Lisa and Bobby close the farm down and deck it out head-to-toe in all things Halloween. Every weekend beginning in September, they’ve got a small entrance fee for kids 2+, and an additional fee for accompanying adults, but the price includes a free pumpkin, unlimited access to the hay ride, barrel ride, spinning strawberry, corn maze, bounce houses, swings, and a wide variety of other games and play equipment. No time limit! After the first visit, you automatically receive a season pass to enjoy the farm at a discounted price for the rest of the season! Also, you can’t forget the friendly farm animals. Turkeys, goats, chickens, Guinea fowl, pigs, sheep, and more! I’m particularly partial to my buddy “Fred,” the resident bull who is a literal giant puppy who loves all the scratchins. During the weekends in the fall, there’s also food trucks, local vendors, face painting, and music! Always our kids favorite place to visit. Friendly staff, happy animals,...
Read moreWe've been coming here for a couple years now and always have a great experience. We decided to have our daughter's birthday party here and are so glad we did! Genuinely couldn't have picked a better place! The owners and staff were very kind and accommodating, had great communication, and of course the grounds themselves are so much fun for kids (and adults) of any age, not to mention clean of any trash. It feels home-y and well cared for. The price was very fair and the things included in the price were worthwhile. The kids all had a great time and our daughter loved her pumpkin patch party! We'll definitely be back for the sunflowers, and for strawberries during that season! (: thank y'all...
