I have dealt with Kristen on a regular basis, and have nothing polite or respectful to say about her as a pharmacist or human being. My first unpleasant experience was when my Psychiatrist prescribed a new medication. I was doing very well on this new Rx, and it had been filled a few times without any hiccup. It wasn’t until Kristen took it upon herself to have MY doctor change the Rx. The new medication I was put on gave me 2 months of terrible side effects forcing me to miss several days of work. This week was the absolute last straw when she decided that I couldn’t have one of my Rx’s filled there due to me having to call a couple times, speaking to an assistant, trying to resolve an issue that my insurance had caused. If I had been rude to any of the pharmacy assistants, I would have been told that I could no longer use their pharmacy to refill all of my Rx’s, not just one. Furthermore, I wasn’t rude on the phone due to me and my husband knowing those that work there, and we have always had a great professional relationship with them. Unfortunately, Kristen did not stop there. Her calls to my Nuerologist’s office were unnecessary, and not appreciated by him or his staff. When you have a patient dealing with seizures, instractable migraines, and chronic pain, I cannot go 24 hours without my medications or else I am in the ER or admitted. My medical condition, and Rx’s have been very closely monitored by ACTUAL DOCTORS - nuerology, physciatry, general practitioner, etc. In addition, my medical conditions have been monitored and consulted on by the leading migraine neurologists, top neurosurgeons, the Mayo Clinic, MHNI (Michigan Headache and Nuerology Institute), and other top doctors who specialize in this area. I meet with my doctors once a month, we have never needed to increase my usage of pain meds, or other meds, for the past 5 years. I am on a manageable maintenance program. Leave it to say that my medical team has far more experience than she will ever have, and I am closely monitored by the ACTUAL DOCTORS! To have a pharmacy manager, who was kicked out of Safeway’s Pharmacy, then moved to Walmart, due to her interference with patients’ Rx’s and second-guessed doctors is absolutely despicable. — And just as an FYI, the doctors are able to see what meds have been prescribed, when they were picked up, etc. Pharmacist can access that information as well. Trust me, these medications are monitored very closely through the federal government, doctors offices (since they run the risk of being shut down for overprescribing Rx). Kristen went to school to be a PHARMACIST, NOT A DOCTOR. Her job is to make sure medications are correct, answer any questions the consumers have, and to provide knowledge about interactions and side effects. IT IS NOT HER JOB TO FURTHER COMPLICATE THE LIFE OF THOSE WHO, UNFORTUNATELY, HAVE TO RELY ON THESE MEDICATIONS UNTIL A NEW TREATMENT COMES ALONG. This b@#*% has crossed the line for the last time with me. I will not let her interfere with my wellbeing, harassing my medical team, and having an all-around disgruntled, unprofessional attitude. Walmart has lost all business from us, and Safeway has earned it. The next step is to finish my conversation with the lead pharmacy department of Walmart and push through with this complaint. She is not going to win this battle. She messed with the...
Read moreMy experience with this pharmacy was absolutely fantastic. I moved recently, but I filled with this pharmacy for like 6-8 months, and it was such a refreshing experience after monthly struggles with the Safeway pharmacy. Not once did I run into any major issues with Walmart; every single month they had my prescriptions filled when I needed them, I never waited in line longer than like 3-4 minutes, and the pharmacy staff was always kind, efficient, and competent.
This was a drastic change from my experience with their major competitor in Elizabeth. I filled with Safeway for over two years, and I am not exaggerating when I say that they made at least one major mistake that impacted my ability to have the meds I need refilled on time, EVERY SINGLE MONTH. Every month like clockwork. They would leave my doctor’s call in their voicemail machine for over 24 hours, they would fail to answer phone calls for entire days, they would simply forget to refill certain medications, stock issues, extremely rude employees, I could go on forever. They are terribly incompetent, and I ran into exactly zero of these issues with Walmart.
If your life or your ability to function depend on medications, filling at Safeway rather than Walmart is an extremely unsafe choice. Save yourself the headache, save yourself the likely possibility of a dangerous situation when your medication inevitably isn’t filled properly and/or on time, and fill your prescriptions with Walmart rather than Safeway. It legitimately is a safety issue, and after two years, it became clear that Safeway didn’t care or didn’t have the resources for...
Read moreWe switched from Walgreens to Walmart pharmacy after never-ending issues with Walgreens. We have had nothing but positive experiences with this pharmacy! Today was no different. My one year old daughter has some food allergies that require an EpiPen. Our copay was almost $300. J, the pharmacy tech, took the time to educate me on a co-pay reduction program the state offers for epinephrine. I filled out the application, he entered it in the computer, and our co-pay was reduced to $60! I could not believe it. It brought me to tears. There was a line of customers behind me, and it would have been quicker for him to just to ring it up at the original price, but he took the time to care and help me. I am so thankful. Having a child with food allergies is so stressful, but the time he took to help me and save us money provided relief and comfort to a stressed out new mom....
