Church Community Services — Local services in Elkhart

Though i was there from 11am to 1:40pm it was worth it the people were nice and there was seating water and a restroom..2 rolls of tissue, 3bags of potatoes,5 canned goods,3 household items of my choosing,3bags oranges,3 frozen liquid eggs,2 dozen duck eggs,3bags of beans,1 bag of rice,1 bag of mini snickers,1lb butter,1bag walnuts,1 box mac&cheese,1 bag corn flakes,1 bottle of vitamins,4 diapers of any size, 7 adult diapers,2 lbs sausage,1 pork loin,1roll paper towl...1 grocery bag full of nacho cheese Paqui chips,1 bottle of cranberry juice concentrate,120 jars of baby food,1 childrens book, 3 loaves sara lee...

This place has always been good to me. The only problem is the wait time and that they go by numbers which doesn't always work because someone who came in after you can get a number before you if they go to the right individual at the computers. However, for one person, they give so much food that I had to ask one of their volunteers to help me get the food to my car since I couldn't lift the box myself with all the bags I had in my hand. They offer one meat, sometimes a pizza, and toiletries. Definitely worth going to if you need food. I don't know about their...

It's amazing at what Church Community Services does for not just residents of the city of Elkhart, but for all of Elkhart County and surrounding counties in Northern Indiana and Southern Michigan. They have the largest food pantry, a Soup of Success program to empower women, financial services to help keep families from becoming homeless, and a Seed to Feed program with over 40 community gardens across Elkhart County providing fresh vegetables to their local communities.
