Elmore Store — Local services in Elmore

Update: 2025: “new new” ownership seems to have done more of the same as the last owners. Seems as though they want to run a restaurant/cafe under the guise of a general store. Store has a ton of things nobody is really looking for and very few things people are. Really sad because this was and still should be an amazing place. A longtime local said to me “we’ve gone without a real store this long I’m used to ignoring its existence”

We visit Elmore at least once a year, camping at Elmore State Park. Our final day tradition is to check out, get lunch sandwiches from the Elmore Store to eat at the beach, and then back for ice cream cones for the drive home. While the renovated store is really lovely, it is a 360 from the country store that it was. Times change, and we'll adjust, but we were sad at the loss of our traditions, and ended up not spending any money this year at the Elmore Store. The store really is worth wandering through though. On Sunday a friend and I took a short drive to the Elmore Store from Stowe. It's been hot and humid and wanted to eat lunch by the lake there. Had read they remodeled it and have new owners. Sweet little store, feels comfortable and everyone working there was friendly. They weren't serving lunch yet...but will be in a few weeks. I will go back. Love the outdoor deck by the lake. I was very happy to find/buy Pennsylvania peaches there! Just ate one.......
