I can't say enough good things about Allegheny Mountain Hardwood Flooring - we had original pine flooring in our 1880s home that we were desperate to save but unfortunately couldn't (it had been sanded too many times and was literally falling apart underneath our feet). Heartbroken by this, we reached out to Zach and the AMHF team and man oh man did they deliver. Zach immediately understood what we were looking for, guiding us through the process and recommending the cut, wood type, edging and stain that would get us the look we wanted (4” white oak, live sawn, hand crafted edge 7’-12’) . I was so nervous to see the final product but once I did I was absolutely delighted. His recommendations were spot on - the floors are beyond gorgeous, sturdy, and beautiful. It's all we could've hoped for and more. And on top of it, we loved that this is a family owned business, run sustainably and with respect and reverence for the forest they source their wood from. In our search for our perfect floors, we reached out to a lot of companies, including some well known luxury brands, but AMHF was leaps and bounds better in terms of understanding what we wanted, product, and price. If you need new floors, go with Allegheny! You won't be disappointed.

I had a fantastic experience with Allegheny Mountain, and Zach Muhl in particular. I was a little hesitant ordering over 1,800 square feet of hickory flooring online, but Zach took the time to answer all of my questions and had lots of good advice and suggestions. Many salespeople work to get the sale and then can't be found afterwards. Not with Zach. He was there after the sale as well answering all of my questions and giving me suggestions on installation. The floor is beautiful, as you can see from the pictures. The installer, who has been doing this for 30 years, was very impressed with the quality of the flooring. He said the beautiful variation in color is due in part to the older age of the wood, which you don't see with wood that is harvested too early. He also said that the average length of the flooring was much longer than he typically sees. Finally, the milling was very high quality, allowing the pieces to fit together very easily. He said that he will be referring his friends and customers to Allegheny and Zach, as will I.

I was researching white oak flooring for my new house when I found Allegheny Mountain Hardwood. I was intrigued by the multigenerational family ownership, and impressed by the customer reviews. I had several conversations over the phone with Zach from their sales department, and ultimately decided to purchase 4" Clear grade unfinished white oak flooring. Zach was incredibly helpful in coordinating the shipment from Pennsylvania to the west coast of Oregon. It arrived well packaged and free from damage. The flooring contractor was extremely impressed both by the quality and the average length. He was used to purchasing material from a regional supplier where the bundles tended to be overly skewed towards short pieces. Everyone who has seen the floor since it was installed has remarked on the quality the wood. I can personally recommend Allegheny Mountain Hardwood Flooring to supply an outstanding product at a very fair price. Thank you Zach and the entire team for a beautiful floor.

Zach made selecting hardwood floors for my home a decision made with a lot of shared knowledge and patience. I reverse researched this decision by finding him first and he in turn turned me on to a wonderful group of installers. Buying these floors just about post pandemic was not easy as supply issues were a problem. Zach was honest and forthright in all that he had been grappling with in his industry and I very much appreciated that. The floors I ended up with were exactly what I wanted and the quality was perfection. Zach’s recommendation to use Floors by the Shore made the experience even all the better. Adam was the owner and my initial contact and his expertise alongside his team made the entire floor decision and install beyond my wildest expectations. Adam understood all of my concerns about how to properly install on my particular subfloor and reassured me they had a specialist that knew 100% how to handle it. His team of people were extremely communicative and available throughout my install as was Adam. This is very reassuring in such a large purchase. I am very grateful for all of the people involved in my project and simply cannot say enough. They were all extremely respectful to my property and polite to everyone they were in contact with in my...

We were the prime contractors for a large renovation (added 4000 sq ft) on our home, to include sourcing all the materials from framing, to roofing to tile, fixtures, flooring, etc. TONS of decisions needed to be made, and the choice of flooring was very important to us. We visited several mills in Pennsylvania and Ohio, and flew up to Vermont one day to visit a hardwood flooring mill there as well, just to make sure we'd gotten a good sense for what was available in the North East.

We wanted Rift and Quarter Sawn tongue and groove flooring and ended up choosing a Beech R&Q floor from Allegheny Mountain. Zack was a pleasure to work with - helping us measure (and remeasure) to make sure we had enough (but not too much), and he guided us through the quality selection process as well as the conversations about moisture/humidity testing when the material arrived on site.

We have a unique, BEAUTIFUL floor, and the shopping experience was both fun (visiting their showroom and meeting them in person was great) and rewarding. We could not be more pleased with the professionalism, the quality of the product...
