Star Mart — Local services in Emporia

It's a nice, little convenience store. It has a decent selection of drinks and snacks. There is in store dining available with a few seats and tables near the front window. The highlight of this convenience store is the homemade food. During cold months there are daily soups. I found cakes, brownies, sandwiches and side dishes available for purchase when I was there. The summer pasta salad was sweet, creamy and tasty. It was a tad too sweet for my tastes though. I was expecting a bit more savory flavors (like bacon crumbles). The French Canilla Cake was heavenly. That was really good! I took it to my grandmother, who hardly eats anything nowadays, and she devoured it! I'll have to remember to stop by Star Mart anytime I come to town to see if they have it before I go visit my grandma.
