This studio is absolutely the best thing that's happened to me in a long time! I had been going to another gym for their group classes hut was looking for more of a challenge. This is it!! It is so high energy. The instructors are SO good, the lighting and music and heat and energy makes class fly by. The other gym I was going to, I would look at the clock half way through and be like...dang we have a whole other half hour to go. Also, the variety of classes at Yoga Box is amazing. AND the range of times! Classes are as early as 6 am (and there's like 30 people!) and as late as 8:30p.m. Lastly, the price is really unbeatable. It's like $119/month which is beyond reasonable for what you get, the level of the instructors, and the location. SO...

I did yoga for the first time in February at Yoga Box Ocean Beach and have not stopped since. Living on Voltaire St., I have many yoga studios to pick from but Yoga Box offers an 8:30 pm class which is the only time I can make it. This is the Hot YB class with Danielle and it has been a game changer for my mental health and well being. Working in patient care for 12 hours a day is fulfilling but exhausting. But after a Hot YB class I feel completely brand new and ready to tackle the next day. Danielle makes class fun, is extremely easy going, and rid me of any anxiety going in to yoga since it was my first time. Now I can't imagine Tuesday or Thursday without Hot YB. Yoga Box is a great fitness studio. You have to find the right teachers. I just had one miserable experience with a Denver teacher (not Jess, she was amazing) but all the San Diego teachers have been great. Some of the classes are super loud to the point where you can not keep your balance. They are receptive to feedback though. The thing I most miss at this studio is yogic philosophy and chants in the classes to balance out the fitness. However, I took Dannie's class and she makes some space for this so maybe others do as well. I'm glad this is actually a hot studio. So many others disappoint with the temp.
