I truly never thought this day would come. I have been a customer at Kim's Nails for close to 10 years now. I moved over an hour away and still make the trip down there every 2 weeks because until today, I was convinced they were the best in the area. Which is why, over the years, I can count at least 10-15 people I have sent there to give Kim's more business. Sadly, Thursday my last time at Kim's - much to my disappointment:(
Yesterday, I made the hour long (2 hours if you count the commute home) trip to get a fill and a pedicure. Both looked wonderful at the end! However today, my toe nail polish (even though I paid extra for gel) almost completely came off. I haven't even had my toes done for 24 hours. But you know what? Mistakes happen. I called and explained the situation and asked NOT for a refund, but rather proposed that the next time I came for a fill, they could take off $5-10. After all, I can't come back there without it costing me more money in gas, so this seemed like a fair compromise.
I was quickly dismissed by the man on the phone who told me it was against their policy to give refunds or take money off a future appointment. I was absolutely shocked and immediately disheartened. I have been a customer of Kim's Nails for at least 10 years and have actually experienced worse mistakes than this but gave them the benefit of the doubt by never bringing up the issue. Instead, I continued being loyal and sending them business. So now, I'll just dispute the full transaction (full is required by my bank), you'll lose the money I paid in its entirety (that I didn't even want back) and you'll lose a loyal customer. I just wish the owner would see how taking 20 seconds out of her day to acknowledge a mistake happened and would take $5 off MY NEXT APPOINTMENT WITH THEM would've cost them $5 as opposed to losing the potential $10,000+ I would've spent (and sent in referrals) in the coming years.
I don't want to support a business that doesn't take care of...
Read moreWorse place, I will never go here again. I had my nail done on Friday by a guy( the only guy) They put just a drop of acrylic on the cuticle and buff it off leaving paper thin nails. One nail breaks and I go back Saturday. The guy acts like if I’m lying and didn’t get my nail done there. He repaired it and tells me to go to another seat because he was going to do someone’s nail. First of all he should’ve finish my nail before taking another customer ( it’s was only one nail. I sit and wait for someone to paint 1 nail, I can’t find my color and no one comes to help, around 6 technicians come to me and ask if I find color, I tell them which one I thought it was and says no and walks away, now I’m frustrated because they all did the same thing. Just get me the color and i paint my own damm nail. So another tech comes and say it’s the ring finger so we do both fingers in silver. I said whatever , look horrible with the color I have. Sunday another nail breaks and Today Monday another one breaks. I guess I got what I paid for a cheap job. I will never go here again. I only went because my cousin suggested to me but no thanks I will continue to go where I always been...
Read moreBased on previous reviews, I was excited to try this place for pedicures since it’s so close to home. I was highly disappointed on a few different levels. First off, there were two of us, myself and my 10 year old. Neither one of us had a pleasant nail technician. I tried to make small talk, smile and joke a bit, but they only spoke to each other and barely acknowledged either one of us. I do have to say that we saw other patrons having nice and friendly conversations with their technicians, so it was a bummer that both of us lucked out with two women that would hardly look at us. Secondly, when I get a pedicure, I look forward to a foot massage. I got ZERO time of any type of foot massage. She did however massage my legs, but never once my feet. How disappointing! The final straw, was when we both handed our nail techs their tips and they didn’t even say thank you, but rather just stuffed the money in their pockets and carried on. I was hoping to have the same experience as most. Oh well. I gave Kim’s 2 stars because the actual appearance of the gel pedicure is nice. It’s unfortunate that this was our experience because we literally live less than 5...
