Hudson's Grocery — Local services in Englewood

Has your basic Quickie-Mart items then some like fresh meats and gas station par deli sandwiches. Prices are high because its what you expect for the convenience store plus Boca Grande pricing they can't control just due to the cost of operating here. Been a customer about 10 times as I work for a service business and as I find myself desperate on Boca. A t-bone will cost 25-50% more what it is off the island, the gas station 8" subs are ZERO TOPPINGS (no lettuice/onion/mayo/mustard basics) because theoretically they will have a longer shelf life, and cost 6-8$ for basic ham/cheese or just two slices of turkey. Subway off the island 12 min away you can get a footlong loaded for way way less. But in the end its a CONVENIENCE STORE in what maybe the most expensive area around for 45 miles. You want basic produce right now? Need shrimp for dinner? Potato chips for your picnic? If you dont want to drive, your paying for the...

Hudson's Grocery is a unique place. It is located on Gasporilla Island which is the small community of Boca Grande. FL. It.is the only grocery on the island and as such is it's own monopoly. This position does not detract from what it provides. The meats and seafood they sell are of the highest quality. Don't expect a bargain, but one gets what they pay for. They can order most seafoods if not in the case. The meats are prime. The staff knows what they are doing.

There is a limited selection of can goods but enough variety to finish a meal at home.

I prefer to shop off island for produce and others items. There is a smaller Publix about two miles from the Boca Grande bridge along with a liquor store.

If I could give a negative 100 I would !!!! Absolutely horrible people who work there !! I was attacked and almost physically stopped by a woman for no facial coverings due to medical reasons that prevent me from wearing it ! I was even nice and told them my medical condition and it basically became a laughing matter . Everyone was absolutely horrible except the manager who let me shop and just asked me to keep my distance and the one woman at the register who checked me out. I would not reccomend going to this place at all. Everyone there wasn't wearing their masks properly in the first place while attacking me for not wearing one and the man behind the food counter took his off and I guess that was okay....
