Tewes Farm — Local services in Erlanger

Tewes Farm gives us an opportunity to appreciate our food like people used to. They give us a connection to our food. You go to pick up your fresh bird, and you can see turkeys out in the yard with room to move around. They are happy and healthy. I imagine they have a whole lot of really good days in their life and only one bad one! This is what you get from a small family farm. A great product that is the result of a lot of care and hard work. In our world of industrial food production, where animals are treated inhumanely and trucked all over the place, then frozen for God knows how long, we aren't used to a quality product. You can taste the misery in the big box frozen turkeys.

The amazing product is made even more memorable by coming to the farm and picking up your bird every year. It's kind of nostalgic, and has become a tradition. You get to see an old friend you haven't talked to in a year. Both of you are a year older and the kids are too. It's an event, similar to going to a particular pumpkin patch every year or Christmas tree farm. First time visiting Tewes on March 15th 2019 at the recommendation of a friend. Ordered chicken necks, they didn't have enough so they substituted chicken backs to make up the difference, no problem, also ordered chicken hearts and livers. These are the livers I got. They are fatty livers, the dark spot on the livers is blood, quite obvious. The yellow spots could be feed but, the white slimy looking spots and the white spots with the black dots are said to be a type of infection growing. Regardless, these were bought for my dogs who have immune issues, even without immune issues I would not feed them to my dogs. When I contacted the owner the next morning and advised of the issue, he and his daughter blew up my phone and email all day trying to get me to return them. I won't be returning for anymore...

Tewes farms is excellent! Been going since 2012! With an exception of one or 2 yrs i was too busy to go. Going again this year with dad! The service is terrific! Restaurants could benefit from the family cuz they do a great job! The employees are kind, smiling, never an attitude & even engaging to everyone including my dad & me. Team work is stellar! Customer service is outstanding! Always friendly & humble & always willing to allow us to visit the turkeys & educated well about the turkeys! One of best the late fall traditions to do!
