I've been in your salon with a friend. Unfortunate for you to believe that a review has to be for one who received a service. In actuality I only need to be an eye witness of the type of service you provide. Quite frankly, very overpriced for what you receive. She came in to get a sew in and I didn't like it and I remember saying that while I was sitting there. She paid your outrageous price and then had to have someone else to fix what you did. I really wasn't even going to write a review but someone asked me at church have I been in your salon or what did I think about your salon. Unfortunately, I had to share with them, I know three clients that have received service at the salon. And I can tell you you don't know what you are doing. Sometimes good intentions do not equal quality and skill.. I am certain, you believe you are a five star salon, but really I am concerned for anyone receiving service from you. Entitled to my opinion... That's what rating is
WOW... NARCISSISM...
Listen, you obviously have a problem with whoever you are speaking of and that's either here nor there for me. My opinion is just that, a honest Christian opinion of whether or not you are a 5 Star Salon. Admittedly I was quite turn off with your gossip, attitude and level of skill that you do not seem to have. Consequential to the above statement, and the fact that you are a old woman picking a unnecessary public fight with a 25 yr old female... Really??. My commentary is on your skill and knowledge of healthy hair... My friend literally had to pay another stylist to remove your sew in. Once the piece was removed, she needed to do a big chop, plus treatments for months. I told her she should have sued you. She is a real truthful and naive lady. She also doesn't like bad blood nor controversy... Honestly, you should have learned from the other client experiences that rated you low. BTW, Christianity has nothing to do with how skillful you are.
You are delusional and you need some professional help. Anytime and business owner can't take constructive criticism from participants that will come to their Salon your nuts.. Word of Mouth Is Everything!

I'm the type of person who likes to have their haircare routine relatively simple. So simple, that I can text my hair stylist, go get my hair done easily with no drama or unsatisfactory results. This is the exact opposite of what I got when I went to Tierra of Envy Salon.
The work itself is okay, for the prices she charges, however, I would expect not to have to get it redone everytime I go. But what made me decide not to return to Envy Salon after eight months of patronage was Tierra's behavior.
Tierra is very unprofessional. I was trying to get my hair redone (it was not done to my liking the first time) for some upcoming events and I was contacting her about when she could do it. After much back and forth, I told her I'm trying to be understanding but it's hard considering you make ur own hours.
After 9pm that evening, she calls me saying that was rude and how her brother died and how I obviously don't care about the things going on in her life. She could have just said, I am unable do it, family emergency and that'd be the end of it. After hanging up on me, she sent me a long text message saying I think I'm too good for her. I have no feelings towards Tierra. I pay her to do my hair. I said I think she has the wrong idea about our relationship, we aren't friends, she's just my stylist. She said we could have been friends but I think I'm better than her (????).
I do not know Tierra beyond the few times I got my hair done in the past eight months. So this entire conversation was very strange to me.
I was already tired of Tierra's antics but I gave her this last time to get the hair right.
Also.. Taj who rated ⭐ After you damaged her hair... Grow up. Stop arguing with college students...aren't you in...
Read moreI went to Tierra twice to get my hair done and unfortunately I cannot say that I will ever go back. I had just moved into town for work and needed to find someone who could do and (take care of) Black, natural hair; specifically 4C hair. I went in my first time and it was $65 with a $10 discount for a simple updo that lasted about a week. On the plus side, I was in and out in 45 minutes. Tierra is very pricey but did a good job and I didn't know anyone else in the area, so I decided to schedule another appointment while I was there. She set up my appointment with her assistant Karen. I should have trusted my gut then because the entire situation didn't feel right having a person whom I never met, recently out of hair school, had no experience at all doing kinky hair, do my hair that I grew out for so long. I trusted Tierra's word that she would do a good job since Karen was employed by her, but it went terribly wrong. She dramatically cut (not trimmed) my hair down to it's original length from what it was 2 years ago, and my hair was choppy, brittle at the ends, and uneven. Karen passed through my hair several times with the flat iron and I had to remind her 3 times to use heat protectant. She was not conversational, and clearly unexperienced when she started with the blow dryer. Overall, I was pretty much training her how to do my hair. To add on, I was burned several times and only came back up to the shop because I left my coat up there. My husband went and got it, and told Tierra how upset I was and crying at home after paying $95 for someone to ruin my hair. I went back up there and Tierra was very apologetic and she washed everything out, and I let her know that my scalp still stinged from when I was burned so many times. My hair returned back to it's normal texture, but I asked her if it would be wise to re-flat iron my hair just to make "things right". Tierra said yes and that everything would be fine, but that wasn't true. I left with my hair laid but with the harsh consequence of heat damage which I found out today. My hair had been straight since; and with deep regret my current curl pattern is now around 3B. I genuinely do think that Tierra can do hair (I can't vouch if it's great since I only had her do mine twice including the fix up), but I can't trust her after the traumatic experience she insisted that I would be fine in at her shop. Eventually, I will end up cutting all of my hair off and starting my natural hair journey again. This is a very upsetting time for me since I worked so hard keeping my hair long and healthy. I really hope this helps someone else when deciding on a hairstylist.
In response to your comment Tierra, I did not schedule my appointment the same day. I loved my hair when I left, but did not love the heat damage you and your hair stylist gave me afterwards. You called me 10 minutes after I wrote this review and for what? I had already cut all of my hair completely off because there was nothing you or anyone else could do with irreversible, damaged hair all the way from scalp to root. Karen did not put extra heat protectant in my hair, and you continuing to lie in the rest of your post to gain and keep your customers is sad. Instead of attacking me in the response below as a customer, an apology would have been just fine! A true and professional business owner would never degrade their client on a public forum like this. I hope everyone who reads this has the proper discernment not go to your salon because you obviously tear down clients who give honest reviews and suade existing ones to write good reviews for you to maintain...
Read moreI went to Envy for my first experience of a "sew-in, or in my case a micro-link install. Tierra did a good job, well at least it looked nice, I was excited. Unfortunately, a little more than 2 months later I went to Tierra to have the install removed and my hair is damaged. I went in with a healthy head of hair, shoulder length, I have a fine grade of hair that doesn't take much to maintain. I'm still so very hurt, disappointed to have to cut my hair, to a very short length and start over with growth and to get it healthy again. Tierra states it’s because I did not do the proper maintenance, it's impossible to get into her shop every two weeks, however, I tend to take good care of my hair, so I did do maintenance at home e.g. sleeping in a silk scarf, oiling my scalp and even washing it. When I went to a professional consultant, I was informed the install she did which was micro-links, tracks and sew-in was too much tension for my grade of hair causing the breakage and thinning. I'm so disappointed, she seems like a nice person but that didn't help my circumstance with my now damaged hair. I'm so sad, traumatized and disappointed.
In a follow up with Tierra response: I did not get them tightened, per your suggestion. I did not not not refuse you to trim my hair more than you suggested, matter of fact you suggested the trim and I agreed, you did not suggest more of a trim/cut during my time of service. You told me, at time of removal, that I did a good job taking care of them, you said it didn't look like I lost hair when I said it looks like my hair was damaged/shorter when you removed the links. I went home that night shocked; my husband couldn't believe how much damage the links caused. You did offer to help my hair grow back and to cut it but this doesn't fix the damage, today. I'm offering this review so people with my texture of hair, fine hair, can be informed of what this install could do to the hair. I'm not a professional hair stylist, but the outcome is obvious. It was recommended to me by a professional (micro-link professional installer) and I would recommend others either do a sew-in with tracks or micro-links install but not both, "too much tension on the hair which you did, all three, sew-in, tracks and micro-links. I'm praying/hopeful that my hair will grow back. Lastly, your schedule is impossible to get in every two weeks for maintenance, good for you; but you knew this prior to doing the install. I asked for an appointment when leaving your shop and your next available was March 18th, but of course I cancelled after looking at the damage the next morning. You seem to have a good reputation and I'm not doubting you're a good stylist but for me I spent a lot of money for this install total of more than $700 for the install, color, removal and style just to have damaged hair. This is traumatizing this was the first and last time I'll get this type of install. GOD Bless.
2nd and last response; Tierra now you are boldly lying or you are getting me confused with another client. We never had a conversation about my hair being damaged and needing a cut prior to the install of the links. You stated I can leave them in for 2-3 months when you installed them and that's how long they were in. I'm really hoping you are confusing me with another client and not being deceitful and lying. When seeking a stylist, I purposely choose you because of your reviews and your confession of being...
