I discovered Barnhouse Kitchen at the North Asheville market and man was I glad I found them! Really tasty savory pies, strudels and quiches. I have had over 10 different items and still can’t find something that I haven’t enjoyed. My favorites are the pork and pickle struben along with the short rib and carrot pie. Great husband and wife team who are friendly and remember who you are. My wife and I love not having to fully cook while adding in a side salad and bottle of wine to any of their products. Not only is she super kind, the food she makes is amazing! My husband and I lucked up and caught her at the Saluda Farmer’s Market and grabbed a lamb and turnip pie, along with a shrimp and grits pie. Absolutely one of the best things we’ve eaten in a long time and bonus points that we got to stay in for such a great meal since they’re take-and-bake meals. I first had one of their pies at sideways farms (a fantastic brewery). The pie made there was top notch, really excellent pastry and good fillings. Ive since bought a number of their frozen pies and while more expensive than a grocery store frozen pies, they don't even belong in the same building quality wise.
