Edit: I went to the Upper SC Fair on Sunday night. I was more impressed with the rides as I was not excluded from any due to being a larger person. Also, it was a bit cheaper, but there were some less attractive things...see my review for it. **Note: If you are a bigger person in any way (large chest, blessed hips/behind, and/or you have a stomach that isn't considered "normal size") you will not be able to ride Jekell & Hyde or Subzero. These are the 2 best rides at the fair. I have been to many fairs. None have been as great as this one. The rides were plentiful for us grown-up kids. The rides didn't look nor feel like they were about to come apart, and the operators were nice. There were lots of different vendors for a variety of foods. Animals to see. There were plenty of games, and the operators were not yelling at people to come play. Lots of police presence, which meant all the parentless teens were not acting a fool. We went on Saturday evening, and the lines were long for all the good rides (it was only the 2nd night open). Was it cheap? Absolutely not! However, I've never been to a fair that was. This one was at...
Read moreThe NC Mountain State Fair is a fantastic day out for the entire family! We recently visited, and it was everything a good state fair should be and more. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement, and it didn't disappoint. There's a perfect mix of thrilling attractions for the adventurous adults and classic, joyful rides for the little ones. The Chair lift offered a great view of the surrounding mountains, and the carnival games provided endless fun and a chance to win a prize. Beyond the rides, the exhibits were truly impressive. The livestock displays were a hit with the kids, giving them a chance to see farm animals up close. We also loved exploring the craft and agricultural exhibits, which showcased the incredible talent and hard work of local North Carolina residents. There was something interesting around every corner, and it felt like a real celebration of the state's heritage and community. Overall, the NC Mountain State Fair is a...
Read moreIf you go here be sure and eat before or wait till you leave and go somewhere else. We attended the RV show and stopped into the "restaurant". 2 burgers, 1 BBQ sandwich, 2 cans of soda, 2 fries and 1 can of beer came to $52! And the cashier, who seemed totally overwhelmed, instead of giving the receipt to the cook (which apparently she had to do to put in our order) handed it back to us and therefore it never went in. After waiting over 30 minutes we inquired about our order only to find out it never went in. We then waited another 20 minutes for it to be prepared. Giving us a free order of fries definitely didn't make up for it or how...
