In the past year, several times been unable to get into see anyone within 24 hours for sinus infection and flu. Did not receive return call for scheduling for 3 days in one instance and unable to reach anyone twice in other instances. Had already gone on to the urgent care clinic in Florence who handled immediately and well. 2. Last Thurs my doctor in Oregon told me to see opthamologist in AZ for post-op problems on cataract surgery and large lump on eye. I saw FNP and was told I would receive urgent referral to ophthalmologist within a day. Four days later, still no word and eye is worse with lump growing badly. I called Banner Florence and it said 13 minutes wait. I waited on the line for 18 minutes for an answer, and then put back on hold for another 3 minutes while they tried to figure out what happened. The person who answered the phone said that I should call an eye clinic and gave me a number to call. She had no idea why no one had called me back to say there was no scheduling and whether it was given urgent status. She could tell me nothing, leaving it up to me to call an opthamalogist and schedule, all of whom are one month out. I received no benefit from the visit. 3. I then called the ophthalmologist number given to me and the person who answered the phone had trouble handling spelling. Five times easy and slow spelling, he still couldn't find the purported referral made by Banner Florence. And then another hold. The fellow claims there was no referral made. He claims he had no fax. He could only make an appointment at the next available date, perhaps a month out. His system went down and said he would call back. So no appointment and nothing urgent could be scheduled. I then called Florence Banner back to see where the fax referral was. It said 15 minute wait, which meant that it would probably be 20 to 30 minutes. I pressed button for call back. 15 minutes later I got a call back and she said that referral was faxed out last Thursday and again today with priority message. So local office claims it sent fax, ophthalmologist claims not. Outcome---no medical attention for urgent case; no referral and no appointment with an ophthalmologist and bad eye with no attention. And again, if you have the flu or other small matter that needs prompt attention or will need a specialist referral, forget Banner. Go to to a non-Banner-affiliated urgent care clinic or ER...
Read moreThis has to be the absolute worst banner facility out there. Warning you all now! My fiance attempted to come here for an appointment a few months back and when we came they refused to see him because his primary dr was out of a different banner facility, mind you he needed help with his insulin shot (new medication at the time) and they refused to see him. Made absolutely no sense, considering it was in fact a banner facility. I make an appointment for myself today not realizing it was the same facility, and what do you know another issue. I get a call from their office telling me I need to call my insurance and change my Dr because the dr that is showing is no longer with banner and if I don't change it, i can't be seen. I am in excruciating back pain and now I have to make all kinds of phone calls trying to get this taken care of before my appointment. I was finally able to get this taken care of 15 min till my appointment and called them and notified them I would be 10 minutes late due to having to make all these phone calls and honestly, traffic. My appointment was at 11am said i would be 10 min late, so 11:10, I walked in at 11:12 and was told I couldn't be seen, and I know per banner policy they are to give you a 15 min grace period. They had 1 person who walked in after me, and her appointment was with a different dr at 11:30 and yet I still couldn't be seen. I understand there are set appointments but they were acting as if the lobby was full. DO NOT COME TO THIS LOCATION, THEY HAVE NO CARE FOR THE PATIENTS AND ARE RUDE AND...
Read moreHaving our healthcare with Mayo for over 20 years and relocating to AZ 5 years ago, we chose Banner for care because we could not get into Mayo here. It was like running into a brick wall. My husband had dementia and has passed away, but the experience with Banner was terrible..we had never seen such unfriendly, unprofessional medical facilities and staff! During COVID they focused on nothing else. I gave Banner the benefit of the doubt however. I filled in surveys and placed calls to express my disappointment in the facilities and care, hoping to see a change, or I would be leaving Banner care. I found our FNP who had moved to a new location. I liked her and decided to see her at the QC location. I was pleased, but skeptical. I ended up needing surgery and was assigned to Dr Andri Olafsson in San Tan and Banner Ironwood Hospital. It was an excellent experience... professional, friendly, caring staff, clean offices. Dr Olafsson was kind and professional. My surgery experience at Ironwood was top notch....every caregiver was excellent..friendly, compassionate, kind, professional. That experience has given me a renewed hope and I will continue with Banner but I will not settle for less. To Banner, I suggest you clean up your act...being the biggest system does NOT make you the best...don't take patients for granted...earn them, and yes, I suggest you...
