Tomlinson's Florence — Local services in Florence

Tomlinson's is its own thing. It's a department store but a non corporate hometown version. Its the kind of place that you pop in to check out and end up browsing just to see what they have, which is usually similar but different than large chain stores. I wouldn't quite call it niche though. It has that old world hometown feel. The younger staff are very nice and helpful while the older generation of workers lack enthusiasm and its doubtful they will even greet you. There's an office full of workers who to this day I cannot figure out what they do other than gawk from behind the glass. I get the feeling everything there is still done by pencil, paper and telegraph hence the need for so much labor in the "hamster cage" as I like to call the office. They are a little out of touch when it comes to pricing on some things and on others they offer a great deal. Its a bit hit or miss so you'll have to shop and see. What a beautiful, organized, and we'll stocked store! This is a great place to get nice ladies clothing pieces, premium LOGO t-shirts for everyone, and children's wear. Lots if delectable treats from ready-to-eat, to mixes. Beautiful Housewares and interior pieces. They have a quaint & beautiful selection if jewelry too. I especially love the tried and true selection of classic toys they carry. The employees are so nice and helpful from the minute you start walking through. Over an hour drive to get here. Got there around 12:30 on a Saturday and I understand they close at 1. Store was extremely busy. For a business that asks to support local they sure don't appreciate the fact that they were packed.
