This review is for the actual visitor center inside the fort. It’s one of the best places to cool off on the island. There was lots of information about the island, you can get your national park passport book stamped. Rangers were very informative and friendly!

We had a wonderful day (trip) to Dry Tortugas, the weather was perfect… sunny, clear, beautiful!!!! We got there by ferry, but they have seaplanes (you get there faster, but is more expensive).

It has everything, just like other national park visitor centers: fridge magnets, postcards, passport stamps, histories, maps... and accepts credit card payments.

One of our favorite "trips" to the Dry Tortugas in the Fla Keys, Gulf of Mexico....is a "short" 4 hour boat ride getting to this national park. If there's no breeze, WOW, the humidity is suffocating coupled with the heat. We love snorkeling around the largest brick structure in the world...the moat surrounding the fort offers some protection and can find tons of fishies, shells and critters to explore.. Be sure not to miss this adventure and learn tons of history, like "Your name is Mud"...after Samuel Med, the doctor who treated a dying mans leg...the man who shot president Lincoln and is where the...

This is a fantastic location due to its history alone. The site is very unique and it is a fun day trip, but we decided to camp overnight. It was very hot, but a great experience. The fort and the snorkeling are good and the rangers are very informative and helpful. The ferry company itinerary and staff are fantastic and while they operate with precision, are very accommodating. Sleeping over on a desert island is pretty cool. It is also helpful if you have a fondness for...

Truly a gem. It's pricey to get out there, but it's totally worth it, especially if you're able to go in the winter and are able to camp. Located some 70 miles off the coast of Key West, this is definitely one of the most isolated places in the US. It's also a UNESCO biosphere reserve, containing one of the largest coral reef systems in the world, so that's great for snorkeling. What is there not to love about this place? Can't...
