I moved to Texas 3 months ago and was very nervous about finding a highlight specialist. I have been going to the same stylist for more than a decade, so you all can understand how hard is it to switch to someone new.

Last week I had an appointment at another salon and got my highlights done there. Despite showing the pictures of my hair and providing the detailed ‘recipe’ my previous stylist used, the color turned out completely wrong. The stylist didn’t want to fix it.

I started researching for the salons in the area and found David Ryan Salon and read all the amazing reviews. I walked in to make an appointment with Desiree for a consultation to see if she can help me out. She saw me right away. Looked at my hair, told me exactly what she can do and how to fix it. She was super professional and really took the time to listen to me and find out exactly what I like.

Today was my appointment with her. Desiree went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure she did the color the way I liked. She took so much time to make sure it’s perfect. She corrected the results until it was 100 percent to my and her liking. The most amazing thing is that NOT ONCE did she get frustrated with me. She was calm, patient , and very professional! She is VERY knowledgeable about her trade! Such a gem of a stylist!!

I have been on the hunt for a new stylist for quite some time. I’ve been to great stylists who are great at what they do but it never felt right and I ended up not liking it. I’ve had ones where it didn’t turn out like I wanted at all. Due to the frustration and life, I had my hair done last in January prior to my booking at this salon. My appointment was late August and I was at a point with my hair I was about to pull a Britney Spears/Sinead O’Connor look. And truthfully, my mental health was taking a huge hit with how awful I felt about my hair. Thankfully, I booked this salon and Riley was my stylist. She was fabulous! She understood me and what I was verbalizing. She did a BEAUTIFUL overhaul on both my hair and the color. I took off about 3 inches in length and the color she did is just chef’s kiss. It’s been weeks since since my appointment. In prior experience, my color wouldn’t be as rich, the cut would already be losing its oomph. This is the opposite. My color is still gorgeous, rich, and deep. My cut is still holding its shape and withstanding grow out beautifully. I look in the mirror every day and still LOVE my hair. I spend the extra time and energy on myself to make sure I can show it off and it has honestly been immeasurably impactful with my mental health. I booked my next appointment before leaving and I am so excited to go back. Riley is a lovely lovely human and a wonderfully skilled hair stylist. Trying a new salon is always a risk, but it was worth it. I won big with Riley and I’m still winning every day because of her skill and hard work....

I’ve always gone to Great Clips out of convenience, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. However, I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to book an appointment through their website—I was able to schedule one for later in the week with no hassle.

After the cut, she shampooed my hair and put on the finishing touches, ensuring everything was just right.

The result? I walked out feeling like my haircut was truly tailored to me. I even looked younger! This was a completely different experience from the quick, assembly-line haircuts I was used to.
