Hi, I just want to share with everyone on my experience with First Choice trucking school. It all started with me trying to change my field of work and deciding to get a CDL and become a owner operator and eventually having my own fleet. So first, I needed a commercial driver license (CDL). So just like many of you out there, I started calling a bunch of CDL schools. When I called First Choice a woman name Silvia answered the phone and as you would expect from someone getting into a new field and trying to find a good school program, I had a lot of question. Silvia was very patient with me and answered every single question of mine. When I talked to other schools/programs not only were they much more expensive but they made it seem like getting a CDL was very difficult. But Silvia gave me the confidence that they had the right instructors in place that would take me through the bases and have me pass cdl test easily. So factoring in the her customer service, price, and confidence in the staff, I went with First choice, And that played out to be a great decision of mine. My first day was 10/13/2020 I met with the instructors, Rudy, Oscar, and the main instructor Fernado. They each had their role. Rudy helped me master my Straight backing, offset backing, alley docking, and parallel backing. Oscar helped me master my air brake functionalities/test, helped me master and understand my pre trip inspections, from in cab inspections, to the motor, air brakes, suspension, steering system, axles, trailer, and just about every single functioning component. Fernando the supervisor basically does it all, he'll come assist in all the sections of the program. He also is the one that takes you on your test drives, helps you understand the behavior of your truck and how to properly drive it, and he has great skills on how to communicate with you and if you make a mistake he identifies it and tells you what to do to avoid that mistake in the future. He too has a lot of patience and know you're a student and he's there to help you and teach you. ALL IN ALL, in a matter of 1 week, No joke, No exaggeration, I went to the dmv and nailed my test and got my CDL license, In ONE WEEK!!!!. Now that plays a little role on my end as well, I'm a quick learner, drove different kind of manual cars all my life, I'm a motorsports enthusiast, race cars, and just do well with anything related to engines and vehicles. But without this school/program there just is no way I could have gotten it this fast it prolly would've took me months. But with the great instructors and their great way of communicating and teaching, I was able to do this at a very fast paced. I also met students there who have never driven a manual car in their life but fernado in a short time taught them how to drive a manual and master their truck. I was looking around for schools for CDL schools after attending another school where I did not learn anything at all. I was greeted by Silvia on the phone and she was very helpful and answered all the questions I had about the course. She made it easy to enroll and get my start date ASAP. On the first day of training, I got to meet Fernando, the owner of the school where he then started my hands-on training in the truck on the first day!! We went over the straight back and offset maneuvers and I felt extremely comfortable with both after leaving. During my second and third session, I once again worked with Fernando and he went over how to do the parallel and alley dock maneuvers and helped by providing all the steps we need in order to successfully execute them. I learned more in my first week at this school then I did at another CDL school I attended before. Rudy and Oscar are the other two instructors alongside Fernando who help you a lot in anything you need. Rudy is the skills guru alongside Fernando. Both will make sure your skills are perfect to pass the test. Oscar will make sure you know how to perform the Air Brakes test. Fernando also takes care of on the road driving. He takes you out and teaches you everything you will need to know to pass the driving portion of your test. Goes over how to do your turns, controlled braking, up shifting/downshifting, the whole nine yards. Overall my experience at this school was amazing. They really care about their students and want to see you succeed. Of course like anything, you need to put in the work as well. Study and practice the skills as many times as you can. Fernando has built a great team and I recommend anyone looking for an affordable CDL school to attend here. You will not be disappointed and guarantee to pass your CDL. The students and staff are all very helpful and it’s an amazing feeling once you pass your test and obtain your CDL. Like their name suggests, it should be your first choice when looking for a great CDL school. To start off, this trucking school is hands down the best most cost effective school in all of southern California! Their system for teaching and getting you ready for your CDL cannot be beat! It's so incredibly simple the way they prepare you.

Fernando is such a high energy teacher/owner who really honestly cares about you and wants you to succeed more than anything. He puts so much effort into making sure that you really know your skills and knowledge and will not stop untill you are completely confident with yourself.

Oscar the Pre-trip master! Really gets down with you making sure you know every single component of a vehicle. Constantly going over air brakes and pre trip, engraving it into your brain so that it becomes second nature!

Rudy the man with a plan! Also a teacher, really explains and makes you feel comfortable doing all the skills, assisting with the airbrakes and incab! He helped me alot mastering my skills tests never stopping always grinding right by your side.

Silvia the woman that holds everything together the glue to the whole organization got my appointment set and ready for me as soon as I was ready with no delay! Without her I don't think it would've been possible to get my DMV appointment
