Where do I begin?
When we walked in, after waiting to be helped for a few minutes, we were finally told by an employee to sign in and that we would be helped. After that, we were helped promptly. We brought in our own guns to use, including a rifle, meaning we needed a rifle lane. I was with my boyfriend and our friend, so we paid for 2 lanes for the three of us. Two people in one rifle lane was $30, which in my experience is on the higher side, but I'm willing to pay for quality.
Now, when we were checked out, we were not informed of the 1-hour limit in the rifle range. And when we were checked out, the guy at the counter told us someone was in the rifle range spending the last of their bullets. That meant that the time on our ticket (4:40 pm) was partially used by this other person. Not much, but the system kind of didn't make sense.
Anyway, we got in, started shooting. I started with our 9mm to warm up and my boyfriend and I were taking turns in our lane. Time flies when you're having fun.. so about 5:30 rolls around and this girl walks in and tells us she needs to see our receipts. Hold up... who even are you?! She wasn't identifying herself as an employee and was being a bit blunt and even a little rude. She looked at our tickets and walked back out. Just a minute later, she called through the speaker that our time was up. But wait.. it was 5:35 and by my count, we had 5 more minutes left. And we were gonna try and finish our mags, but she said it again and we just left.
We were mad. Not once did the man cashing us out mention the time limit. And even if we had seen it, we missed out on 5-10 minutes of our $30 hour because of the guy who was in the lane before us and because this employee cut us off 5 minutes short of our hour. This is my money, I am paying for a service and not even getting fully what we paid for. I stayed behind to pack up our guns, but when my boyfriend and friend went out to ask about the one hour time limit, my boyfriend mentioned the man who was still using the lane when we paid for it and the fact that nobody informed us of the time limit or at least when we needed to be done in there, and this girl said "that's above my pay grade" RIGHT NEXT TO HER MANAGER! And we were going to speak to a manager but he was making a sale at the time and we would have had to waste even more time there.
Now, on to the facility itself. It looks really nice from the outside. On the inside, however, it is just alright. Nothing special. It wasn't terrible. The range itself was a different story. There was trash on the floor of the very tiny rifle range when we got in and the trash can was mostly full. There were shells all over the floor, which can be really irritating. There also was no broom or anything in the rifle range, which meant that if we wanted to clean up our area, we would need to use our tiny amount of time in the range to clean up after someone else? Uhhh, no. That should have been dealt with beforehand. Did I mention that I don't mind paying steeper prices for quality experiences?? This was absolutely not the quality that I expected for $30 lane.
All in all, I feel that we were treated disrespectfully by the receipt-demanding employee and I feel also that our concerns were blatantly ignored. This was a gigantic waste of $30 and we will NEVER be back. What a disappointment. Hopefully the owner will reach out to me.. or at least train the staff better on...
Read moreIf i could give no stars at all, that would still be 10 times more what this worthless sham of an excuse for a shooting range deserves. Not only are the facilities in a shady area near big truck repair places and strip clubs and shady characters and police all over, but the staff are routinely rude and bothered when asked for help with anything as they usually expect you not to purchase anything. Notice I said routinely. I've lived in Clayton County for 15 years and I've seen this range many times. I'm prior military and try to shoot once a month. But I've chosen others on the past over This one (my local range) because of their attitudes. This is my first review however due simply to the ridiculous treatment today. The range had been closed for parking lot repairs (as far as I know) for the past few months and I had no problem using AUTREY'S ARMORY in Fayetteville which is about 15 minutes from this range but way nicer and a little more expensive and they close earlier, so since it was already 645 and they were closed, I called Range, Guns, & Safes as asked 2 specific questions. 1. " Are you guys open again?", 2. "What time does the range close?". I received the answers "yes" and "8pm". I drove my happy ass out there, got there at 710 only to be told they stop range time at 7pm. I explained I called and drive about 20 minutes to get there and the manger replies , "It's a safety concern. At 7pm a lose an employee to watch the lanes, but if you had a membeship you could go in..." when I asked how membership affected the safety concern ratio, he replied " look man that's just how things are." keep in mind memberships are roughly 2 to 3 hundred dollars and the red dot sight I bought for my Ruger SR9 from them was 160.00 plus tax alone ... Not to mention my over 10 to 15 trips there spending an average of 50 to 100.00 each time also never hearing of a 7 pm cut off. All trips together equaling big $$$ spent, take my advice. This place is in a bad area, with bad staff, with bad policies, and bad attitudes. They're just plain bad!👎 👎 👎 👎 👎 rating....... Try Autrey's. They're not that far and it's well worth your $ to talk to people who respect your time and effort in keeping yourself and your...
Read moreHorrible customer service from the lazy staff that make things up as they go and clearly don't want to service paying customers.
I came on 2 separate occasions trying to use the range and was told I was too late. The first time I got there at 7:03 and was told the latest they can take someone is "maybe 6:45" despite closing at 8. I was willing to cut my time short until he foolishly said we'd only get 20 minutes to shoot.
I came back the next day at 6:35 to a sign saying they're not accepting Groupons today (making up things as they go) and was told yet again we're too late. I explained that the site says the last range time is an hour before close and the guy yesterday clearly said 6:45 is the cutoff. She said well today it's 6:30 because it's the weekend. I explained it's a weekday not the weekend or else you'd be open later. She responded with well it's the holiday so we close early (even though they still close at 8 lol). I explained the holiday is tomorrow so what's really the problem? They then said the ranges have already been cleaned up. So I confirmed we were not too late, y'all just don't want to finish your shift it seems like. She said we're open tomorrow which didn't justify or explain why they refused to service customers who arrived with plenty of time to make use of the hour.
Overall the customer service skills were pathetic to say the least and they should strongly consider just changing their hours instead of being lazy while lying and...
