Upper Post Flats — Local services in Fort Snelling Unorganized Territory

I was surprised to see the quality reviews on this property. After speaking with Brady, I am extremely disappointed. I immediately removed Upper Post Flats from my list of potential places to live. Upon answering the phone, her immediate interest in my finances proved that they are thorough with evaluating potential clients. This was reassuring until she told me that she didn’t think I’d qualify off top because my yearly income wouldn’t allow me to make 2.5x rent per month. This was surprising to hear, as she does not know me, or what I do for a living and was making a blanket assumption. She began to repeat that all funds would need to be verified. I assured her I’d have no issue paying rent, but she insisted in learning more about my finances than what I was looking for in a potential home- continuing to ask additional questions on “other money I may make.” Her overall quick judgment was offensive considering I was just calling to schedule a time to simply see the property. Her condescending tone came off as if she didn’t believe me, and was ultimately judging me as a potential client based off a 5 second conversation. This is by far the best, overall apartment I’ve rented in over 20 years! Brady made the process quick and easy. She explained everything thoroughly and answered all my questions and addressed my concerns. She even had a special dog treat for my Service Dog Dino. The grounds and buildings are kept meticulously clean, and are lush and beautiful. My apartment was key-turn ready the day I moved in. Everything was clean and in working condition. The easiest move in by far. The residents I have met are respectful, helpful, and polite. The paved walking trails around Fort Snelling are ideal for taking your dog for a nice walk. Maintenance is amazing!!! I mentioned a couple minor things I had mentioned, and without hesitation, those items, plus another I forgot to mention verbally, was fixed in just a couple hours. I didn’t have to wait days, or even a week, to have my problems solved. The exercise room is like no other I’ve ever seen! Anything you could possibly want is right here, new, and in working condition. The pool area is clean and gorgeous. I noticed most of the people that left good reviews are not my culture my experience here my civil rights been violated I'm a black woman and this is not the first time I lived on a army base this base is not active duty for military anymore it's civilian living. This has been a horrible experience for me from day one I thought my sink in the kitchen had some smelly water but come to find out it was not the water when inquiring about the problem it became a problem which is too bad nice location very quiet the only complaints I have was with management on solving my problems in my unit I don't want to go into much detail but always check your units day one when you move in your faucets that's the most important in staying healthy you don't need nobody permission to tell the truth it is what it is and the truth will...
