This history walk was amazing. True nature through and through. The truth telling of what really took place on this Indian soil is not the history you learn in school. The presentation was full of history and knowledge. The visitor center is nice place to visit with family but learn the cultural history of this place and understand the magnitude of what happened at these historical places.

A small visitor center about the founder, Thomas Savage, preserved this wetland. Free entrance and parking to exhibit. Friendly staff. Very clean and informative center with a small shop and bathroom.

Love this park and the visitor center. Good information on the Native American history. Always a good park to see wildlife too.

Gorgeous scenic trails along the Mississippi! A pleasant, inviting visitor center where you can use sparkling clean restrooms, buy cool t-shirts and hats, books, Hiking poles, and learn a bit about the areas geological and cultural histories. Especially moved by the reconciliation circle created for the descendants of the Dakota held captive at the fort; a beautiful tribute that you can actually touch. There are opportunities to hear live speakers, and there is additionally an interactive display that explains watersheds cyclically. A must stop for the those in the...

The trails are really nice to walk on and are right next to the Mississippi River. I really like the Thomas C. Savage Visitor Center. There are interpretive exhibits displayed in the Thomas C. Savage Visitor Center. There is a great abundance of history and the resources of the park and the area. Spent an hour in the center before I went on the walk. After coming back from the walk, I went back into the visitor center and looked at the exhibits once more. I will return later on in the Spring. Enjoyed my time out there and...

This is a wonderful visitors center which I feel is kind of under-appreciated in the Twin Cities! Loved that they openly feature informative exhibits on the horrible Dakota detention camp and the Dakota conflict- important pieces of this park’s history! Love the solar hot water heaters on the roof and native plantings and trails nearby. Plenty of parking for your car or bike nearby and there’s even a Nice Ride station right in the park by the visitors center for...
