We were so disappointed. We thought the full parking lot was a good endorsement but we were mistaken. The food was decent, but the service was so, so bad. It took 10 minutes for someone to take our drink order. She returned 10 minutes later to take our food order, still no drinks. I told her I was not ready to order food and I wasnât sure I wanted to wait any longer for drinks. She begged us not to leave and returned several minutes later with our drinks. My husband questioned if she got his beer right, and she insisted it was, but color and flavor didnât seem right. We ordered food and she offered to bring rolls, which we expected would come quickly. Another 15 minutes passed and she dropped a basket of rolls on the table and was gone before we could ask for napkins and silverware. She returned to see if we wanted another round of drinks before our food, which we figured was a good ideas since the first ones took so long. We ordered and waited. Someone from the bar brought my husbandâs beer but no wine for me. This time the beer was served with lime and was correct in taste and color, thus proving our thought that the first one was wrong. Our food came out with someone from the kitchen. Still no napkins or silverware. Finally someone else noticed we needed utensils and went to get them for us. The food was decent but not great. My husbandâs steak was the best part and cooked correctly. We finished our dinner and still my wine had not come. No one checked on us during the meal and I also ran out of water. By the time the server came back we had been finished with our meal for at least 10 minutes. Still had not gotten my wine so at that point I asked her to cancel it. And I should add that over the course of our time there, a busboy ran his cart into our table on two different trips by and into my husbandâs leg as well. I also used the restroom at one point and discovered it trashed. Overflowing garbage cans, a stall door that wouldnât lock, loose rolls of toilet paper not on the racks. Disgusting. All in all it was one of the worst experiences out...
Read moreWeâre traveling from the Guadalupe Mountains to the Caverns at Sonora and decided to stop here due to the good reviews. Well⌠perhaps itâs a hit and miss because I read a lot of hits in the last two weeks, but ours was a miss. My husband ordered a 12 oz sirloin- medium rare with a side of garlic mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. I ordered salmon with a side of baked potato and broccoli. Sometime later, my husband got his steak, but it was medium on the outside, and very rare in the middle. His mashed potatoes were good and very flavorful, but with tons of butter and the broccoli was OK. My salmon was cooked perfectly, and had a lot of flavor, but my baked potato was very dry, and did not have the chives that it was supposed to have. The broccoli was OK. We noticed that the tables around us, with people that had arrived after we did, receive roles. We did not get any rolls until after the waitress, Ray ray, asked how our food was, and I suggested that my husband tell her that the steak was not cooked properly. She took it back to get it cooked a little more, but it was brought back overcooked. My husband was hungry and we were ready to go so he just went ahead and ate it. We did get the rolls and they were absolutely delicious. It was the highlight of our dinner. The waitress was extremely nice and helpful, even though she didnât come back and ask us if we needed any refills, but she was so kind and polite, that we are willing to overlook it. Will we come back? Nope! ** The waitress, was kind enough to discount half off of the steak, but noted on the receipt that we did not like it. It may not be a big deal, but itâs not that we did not like it, itâs that they did not cook it correctly. Thatâs a big difference. If it is supposed to be a steakhouse and they cannot cook a steak correctly, then it is not...
Read moreHusband and I were traveling through the area and were looking for decent place to grab dinner. We usually read reviews before choosing a place. Most of the time it works out, but sometimes it doesn't. This time, it didn't. This place touts itself as having the best chicken fried steak so I had to try it. We placed our orders and had a basket of onion rings foe an appetizer. I ordered a salad and the chicken fried steak (gravy on the side) and garlic mashed potatoes. Husband ordered the 6 Oz sirloin and fried shrimp with a side of mashed potatoes and gravy. The onion rings came and they were really good, albeit a little different than I've had them in the past. The dipping sauces were also very good. The waiter then brought out our entrees and no salad. Right away, my husband noticed the gravy all over the chicken fried steak and told the waiter that it was not how I ordered it. I told him it was fine, but that he forgot to bring my salad. I asked him to take the salad off our ticket and he said he would. I scraped the majority of the gravy off to the side of the plate and then took a bite of my garlic mashed potatoes. Cold. Not even luke warm. Our waited never came back. I finished my chicken fried steak, which was okay, but not the best I've had, by far. My husband's steak and shrimp was good, but his potatoes and gravy were also stone cold. Again, we didn't have the opportunity to let our waiter know about the potatoes because he didn't come back until the rest of the food was finished. By that time, we were just ready to go. We paid and left. I only took a picture of the potatoes to show the butter sitting on top and...
