If I could give this place negative stars I would. I bought 2 tickets through Groupon in sept for my husband's birthday. When it got closer to Halloween I pulled up my groupon and realized there are only TWO days this can be used on out of 4 weeks. (Wednes or Thurs the week before Halloween) we get up at 4:30 on weekdays for work..so that kind of sucked, but we got over it. I looked on their website where it CLEARLY stated hours of operation are 7:30 -10 (note this is only 2.5 hrs) so we arrived at 7:20. They have three lines : cash, credit, online purchases. We stood there until 7:45 (take note if u have allergies to smoke that there are no signs posted for not smoking in line)getting eaten alive by mosquitoes, when finally the manager came out she asked us to be sure we had the confirmation pulled up on our phones etc. And if we had any questions. I asked when they would start letting ppl in and was told "oh we don't open the doors til 8" ..ok...after 20 more minutes she returned..telling us they had a medical emergency with one of the staff members so it would be a little longer. At 8:15 pm I went to the window and asked the employee sitting there on her phone how much longer it would be. She told me another 10mons or something. At this time I explained that we get up at 4:30..and asked for a refund instead. She told me she can't give refunds, do i asked to speak to a mgr. The mgr came back 5 minutes later and refused to refund my money. When I pointed out it was 45 minutes later already than in their website, she told me it says parking opens at that time I showed her the first site that came up on my phone where it says 7:30, she said "oh that's not my website..I can't be responsible for what that says". I went back to my spot in line . They proceeded to open TWO ticket windows..the cash and credit. After watching 3 or 4 sets of ppl from both of these lines enter, I pulled up THEIR website where it clearly says 7:30. I once again switched lines and approached the window. I showed her the official site. Clearly saying "hours of OPERATION" not parking. She was rude told me she didn't care and she would not give me a refund. I asked her when they might start letting the prepaid ppl in..and she said they were alternating lines. I pointed out that they had already let in more than 3 sets of ppl from each of the other lines..and then went back to line. The manager at that time got up and came outside (leaving only ONE person at the windows now) and from ten feet away from me, started yelling at me that if I made any more 'scenes' she was going to call security and have me escorted off the premises, THEN she told me if I want a refund I need to get it from Groupon, because groupon takes a portion of the money(groupons's policy is to refund money within 3 days of purchase) and that next time I shld buy directly from them instead. My husband had had enough and told her this business model is not only ludicrous but illegal and that we were leaving, as we started walking away she followed yelling to a doorman to "follow them and make sure they leave". I stopped to allow him time to catch up..but he declined to follow us and I could tell by the look on his face that she (the manager) acts like this often. The whole experience was ridiculous. I have never been treated so poorly at...
Read moreFirst of all- the fast pass itself boasted of 4 attractions and there were only 3, which when mentioned offhandedly to a worker, was explained as a "typo." The zombie maze was cool The neon maze was extremely brief (though very visually stimulating) and there were only 2 people in it, one of which did nothing. The last maze is the actual problem- there were cool parts and scary parts but towards the end there was a concrete doorway that was only about 5 feet tall- it was after a room that had very dim lighting and the other side of it had none. So here's the catch. After that first doorway that you had to duck under to get past, there were 2 more 5 foot tall doorways shrouded in complete pitch black darkness. My girlfriend smacked her head so hard on the third CONCRETE doorway that she almost passed out and now has a concussion and I am monitoring her for the next 6 hours (it's currently almost 4am.) We were with a group of 8 total people, and moments after my girlfriend hit her head, one of the boys in our group hit his head on the exact same doorway, but not nearly as hard. Long story not-so-short, after we got out of the maze, I told a woman employee about my girlfriend hitting her head- she whisked her away to "file an incident report" presumably to avoid any legal repercussions. All we cared about was that we find what she hit her head on so that we could assess if she needed further medical attention, and speak to someone of authority to make that area less hazardous for others. The woman who was "in charge" of first aid initially dismissed my girlfriends fears about her head injury and told her it was probably "just a light concussion" and that they happen all the time. My gf, being EMT certified, was very worried about neurological damage and was extremely uncomfortable leaving the premises without knowing exactly what she hit her head on. After my girlfriend refused to sign a waiver releasing Hangman's from liability, the lady changed her story to say that no one had ever, in her 11 years of working there, hit their head on that doorway (which I found very unbelievable, as 2/8 people in our party alone hit their heads on the doorway.) There was a gentleman who was very helpful and polite to us at the end, I think perhaps named Ken? I was just extremely dissatisfied that what was supposed to be a fun night turned into a concussion, and not even an offer of a refund or an apology or even a loose promise to fix the...
Read moreWent there twice this year. First for the “grand” opening, and again last night. Grand opening it was storming really bad to the point everything was under calf-high water. At least there were no lines. So much rain, the two smaller houses were shut down. The main house, there were maybe a handful of actors that showed up that night. Wasn’t enjoyable at all and a waste of time and money. I believe we spoke with the owners and we were able to get new tickets to come back when everything wasn’t flooded, which was nice.
Last night we went back and it was packed, given since it’s nearly halloween. The two smaller houses are a complete waste. Outbreak was pitch black and the walls have nails or something sticking out so be careful running your hand along the walls. There were only 3 actors, one actually in the house, and two outside. The 3D house, no actors at all. I guess it’s just there to admire someone’s artwork. They used to have actors in there, and plenty of them in both those houses before this new management took over. The line to the main house took forever, be sure to not crouch under the ropes or security will throw a fit! At least with us they did, everyone else did and security didn’t bat an eye. Whatever. The staff in general was very rude and they just weren’t enjoying being there. Still not enough actors in the main house. The guy giving the directions in the main house, he needs an attitude check. His use of profanity was completely unprofessional. I was with two grade schoolers and thought that was totally uncalled for infront of them. I’d hope he doesn’t talk like that when there are groups with much younger kids. This would be a great first haunted house to take little kids to (and there were plenty of youngsters there), wasn’t even remotely scary. If you’re looking for a good scare, and overall better attitudes and atmosphere, Thrillvania was my personal favorite for me this year. Hangman’s, keep doing what you’re doing, and you won’t be in business for much longer. I miss the old...
