I gave this review a two-star rating simply because the campus is beautiful and the faculty at the Student Accessibility Resource office is amazing! However, this campus is pretty awful. Some of the staff are extremely unprofessional in the way they speak and interact with the students ESPECIALLY IN THE LIBRARY! I recently transferred from the NE campus to the South campus and I regret it wholeheartedly. I needed to rent a Surface laptop from the library, but to rent a laptop for the semester, I needed to fill out the registration form from the desktop in the library. After I asked the librarian if anyone would be able to assist me while filling out the form because I am visually impaired and struggle with using the desktops in the library he told me that I had to walk over to the SAR building to receive help. Filling out this form would not have taken over 10 minutes, but because he heard me say that I was visually impaired he immediately refused to help me. I had to walk over to the office after getting lost for 15 minutes. I had to call the SAR office to call and ask for directions because I am new to the campus and did not know where I was going. When I finally made it into the office after one of the staff came to get me, I had to explain why I was there and try to help them understand why the library refused to help me fill out a form to rent a laptop from the library when I had just left the library. This entire encounter was completely inconvenient and unnecessary and is the reason why I missed my second day of class. To make matters worse when I called the school to ask to speak with the Director of the Library I was told by the Assistant Director that because it was so early during the day the staff are typically really busy and cannot personally help students, which is why the male librarian probably sent me to the disability office. Overall my experience with the staff in the library was terrible. The tone in which they speak to the students is CONDESCENDING, RUDE, and UNPROFESSIONAL! There is no reason why I missed an 85-minute class to resolve a problem that could have been fixed in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf i could give it a zero i would but i had a Terrible experience with one of the teachers here, she is so desperate to feel important that black students who go to her classes struggle, she is black and races of her own race, Dr. Something i care less to remember her name, i was striving in a college introductory class, in a even worst situation with my disabled son, however she didn't care for others. Trinity was way better, they make everything so much more convenient and real! How is it that i attended with no problem, South Campus please remove all your Racist and Uncle Tom's so that everyone gets a equal opportunity to learn. I also got denied financial aid because my sons new school wouldn't give me a letter stating that its a good place for him because he is Autistic and was going through a crisis during school causing me to be late by a couple minutes and missed a few unimportant assignments in the college introductory class, its bad enough I can't work but now i can't even go to school all because my son got Autism spectrum disorder and the City College Campus refuse to be understanding of a special circumstance even after i worked hard for everything to pass that class the financial aid office allowed me to feel discrimination, hurt, and depression because they have no help for people raising...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt would be interesting to see how many students this community college misses out onā¦.
After reading the limited info online which would be perfect for someone who doesnāt already have a career and is probably fresh out of high school.
There isnāt a request info option on their website but there is a contact us.
This provides the emails of advisors and coordinators of the program so I emailed them.
Waited a few days when I didnāt get a response I called TCC South campus.
The lady that answered the phone Lydia I believe told me since itās late into enrollment advisors donāt respond to emails youāll need to just show up to talk to one.
I left work to go speak with an advisor once I got to the campus I eventually found advising after walking into the wrong office.
I was told by the help desk if I havenāt already applied I canāt talk to an advisor and any info I wanted was online.
That probably works for enrollmentā¦..but not for someone who wants to see the facility and pick the right school before they commit.
Hard miss on me and probably...
