Original below but here is Updated:
So I left this after my SO had the repair done. This review prompted a call, then text message to her from the owner, which was quite rude and unprofessional IMO as the information on this account is not linked to her in anyway. Seeing as her info does not match mine, it was not warranted as a reply should've been posted on here, publicly. The message asked for this to be deleted as it was "unfair" with an explanation stating they didn't want to damage the item further and avoid tearing it apart. I understand not wanting to damage a customers item beyond need but this was not discussed when the repair was being talked about or at any time in the process, so I am unsure of what work went into this decision besides a visual inspection. If glueing it over it was the end option, it should've been discussed (but wasn't) and a different course of action could have been taken, considering the price in today's world. The mirror still would've been purchased as it was needed and appropriate compensation paid for the time. I have no problem paying for suitable repairs or services but the end result of just being glued over and lack of professional communication does not justify the $100+ of labor. The price paid for the work done on this particular item is not warranted to me. I am sure other work you have done, or will do is great, but for me it was subpar.
If you have an issue or would like to discuss this matter, please reply here and we'll have a discussion publicly, not privately via text message. Do not message my SO.
Original: Had a large stand up jewelry box that had a broken mirror that needed replaced off of Amazon. Was quoted 60 bucks for a mirror and 100 for labor to have the mirror replaced. There was a communication issue that caused us to drop it off and leave it on site in a truck. Scheduled pick up after completion and, again, was left on site in a truck to pick up, never saw any body. A quick inspection revealed that the new mirror was layed over and glued on top of the broken mirror. Too much for too cheap a...
Read moreShockingly, fixing the window wasn’t the soul-draining odyssey I’d convinced myself it would be, and I say that as someone who dodged it for literal years, even while selling the house. (Yes, I left money on the table. No, I don’t want to talk about it.)
Enter D & S Glass, LLC, the unexpected heroes of my homeowner saga. They answered my text in minutes, minutes, like it’s still 2005 and customer service isn’t extinct, and showed up the same day to measure. No drama, no runaround, just calm competence and kind efficiency.
They haven’t even installed the glass yet, and I’m already leaving a five-star review. That’s how confident I am in them. If all businesses ran like this, I might start getting things fixed when they actually break. (But let’s not get crazy.)
Bottom line: I wish I’d called them years ago. Because nothing says “closure” like finally fixing a window… after you’ve sold the house.
Update: Still five stars. Work completed quickly and...
