Hendersons Store — Local services in Four Corners States

Do NOT give these people your business! Save yourself the trouble and drive on by! Ruined a family vacation by being rude and horrible people! Honestly, I wish there were negative stars to choose from. I can't say much about the goods this store carries, the authenticity or quality. However, the service was horrible. When myself, my husband and two teens walked into the store we were not even greeted. Undeterred we strolled along the small display cases. My daughter and I showed much interest in one case in particular. Not once we're we asked if we would like to see anything or if we needed help. In short, we were not acknowledged in any way. Finally, my son and husband did ask to see some rings and a case was removed for them to peruse. My daughter and I ventured over to look al I ng with them. The lady there barely spoke a word to any of us, almost as if we were a nuisance to her. Other customers came into the store and we're greeted warmly. There were three rings we were interested in but I got my husband's attention, I did not care to spend money at someone's store who would barely look or speak to us. We thanked the lady and left the store. As I got to our car my emotions got the best of me, I just could not let the rudeness shown to my family go unchecked. I went back into the store and informed the lady that if she weren't so rude she would have made a fairly large sale (three rings). She proceeded to tel me that when she sat the tray on the counter for my husband and son it was full, and after they had looked, a ring was missing. She accused my family of stealing a ring! I immediately called my husband back in the store and asked if she would like to search our belongings. She responded with "no, just leave." My husband asked if they had security cameras, her response: "not for this" She really had nothing to say. I can only come to the conclusion that she chose to be rude to my family from the moment we walked in and charging us as "thieves" was only to justify...

My husband and I have done business with Henderson Store (first Vera & Bill Henderson and now their daughter and son-in-law, Desiri and Al Pielhau) for almost 50 years. We have never had a bad experience and have to come to count on Desiri and Al as friends. The Henderson Store sells only first quality Native American pieces (jewelry, fetishes, rugs & pottery) at very reasonable and fair prices. Henderson Store deals directly with the artists and I never have to worry about authenticity or poor quality. Desiri and Al know their stuff! Desiri has even fixed a piece of mine that I didn't buy from her! This is a first rate operation...the best customer service. We have bought several pieces of wonderful artwork from Henderson Store and we always stop...

I absolutely love this place. I traded here over 40 years ago with Vera and visited again just a couple of years ago when Desiri and Allen helped us pick out a couple of rugs for the entryway of our new home in Colorado. The folks there are so helpful and welcoming. I sure miss Vera, but Desiri and Allen are super too! Last time we were there, they were closed - it was a Monday I think. We are making plans to return as we need a couple more rugs and a nice bit of pottery. This time we will plan around their store hours. Thanks for keeping the Henderson...
