I've been meaning to write this review long ago and owe it to them!! I went on this tour earlier this year in January and have to say that my experience was absolutely amazing and memorable. I definitely 100% recommend this tour if you want to experience Horseshoe Bend without the crowd and to learn more about the vast history of the land.
We booked the 2 hour tour and had 5 people in our group which 2 had no experience riding. Experience is not necessary! This tour is not your average horse follows horse in a line. They allow you freedom to roam and wander within reason. In the 2 hour tour, we also got off our horses twice each at amazing view points of Horseshoe Bend. I would also like to mention that they work off of tips so bring cash!! They do an amazing job and are passionate in what they do!
We had no issues with communication from booking to day of meeting. Our primary method of contacting was through calling. I know some did not have reception at the location of meeting, but if I remember correctly, we had called right before heading to the location to let them know our ETA.
I want to extend a special special thank you to everyone: Marlin, our guides, the whole business that made our experience the best as possible for our group and for being super accommodating. Thank you so much for allowing me to propose to my girlfriend, now fiancee. This place holds a lot of sentiment and is very special to us. We can't wait to comeback again...
Read moreHad a relaxing hike to begin our adventure in the Dine (Navajo) Nation by a lovely guide, Jani Ann. She was well versed in the plant life and their uses. It was nice and cool in the Antelope slot canyons with a wonderful view at the end of the canyon.
The last half of the excursion was a horseback ride to Horseshoe Bend. Freddy is a true horseman and the horses were well fed, shod and clearly experienced and safe. After greeting them and discussing their particularities and our experience, we were off. I was incredibly impressed that he had our stirrups set to the exact lengths needed before we even arrived. How he did it, I have no idea. That’s one detail that shows just what a professional operation they are running.
The ride itself was relaxed and he gave us a Dine (the name they prefer) history of the area and his family. The People clearly love and revere their land and fully appreciate its beauty. We could see huge crowds in the distance making the trek to the public viewing area but we were able to visit on native land with just Freddy. Not dealing with all those crowds and slowing it down with a horse was very special. Absorbing the history and learning a little of the language as well made it extra special.
Both the hike and the ride are highly, highly...
Read moreMy husband and I went on the 1 hour horseback ride today, and our experience was incredible. We were worried about the rain, but they called us and said it should clear up and asked if it would be ok to push back the tour an hour. They were right, it went from snow to sunshine very quickly! Gerry and her husband are fantastic tour operators. We rode Cowboy and Moby. They were well-trained and had their own personalities. My husband and a couple of the others in the group had never ridden before, but they expertly instructed everyone on how to mount and steer our horses. They felt confident in no time. We took the horses on a path that led to some breathtaking viewpoints of the Horseshoe Bend where we got off the horses and spent time taking pictures. Gerry was patient with everyone in the group and didn’t rush through letting us take pictures. She also took photos for us, so we could have memorable photos with each other. This is a combined horseback-sightseeing tour, don’t expect to ride for an hour, rather an off the beaten path viewpoint of Horseshoe Bend and you get to ride a horse there. We loved every minute and 100% recommend for animals lovers and anyone who wants some...
