First. I do not suggest joining the Legacy Pickleball Club at Bell Park in Mesa. For my four months as a member, I continually had problems and hassles for the entire time. And the membership fee was really just for the courts, just about everything else I still had to pay for, with a small discount.
Second. Quality customer service standards at the pickleball department are pretty much, nonexistent. Only two morning lady employees really cared about customer service. And they had a difficult time offering it because of the lack of training and support they got. I talked to employees so I can say this for sure.
I wrote an email to upper management recently and received an email from An Executive Assistant, who said, “…I will address this with our Executive Team today and will get back to you on the next steps shortly…” It has been two weeks and haven’t heard a word from her. Maybe her ‘shortly’ is different from mine and means ‘someday’. Again, more horrible customer service. So, here we are.
With the pickleball facility, I rented out the ball machine, the main reason I joined. They have four machines, but only one works (as of my quitting in late May). About 25% of the time though, I would arrive (after making a reservation every time) and the machine hadn’t been plugged in so was not charged up and didn’t work. Ryan would give me my $5 back, but nobody gave me my gas money or thought about my time wasted. I complained about this every time, yet this happened until the day I quit. Also, there are no instructions that come with the ball machine. I talked to other players who rented the machine and they were given no instructions or any assistance on how to set it up and use it. The ball machine is not that easy to set up.
Also, nobody ever asked if I needed assistance in taking the ball machine and its equipment out to the courts, even when there were three or four employees in the office, nobody asked. After using the machine for two months, I was the first person to actually clean it. The front of it was filthy. Every time I arrived (until the day I quit) I had to ask for the accessories that went with the ball machine and many times had to ask to have more balls put into it. Sometimes, the employee wasn’t very pleasant when having to get the extra equipment. I showed up once with a reservation and they had rented out the only ball machine to someone else. They than gave me a ball machine that didn’t work.
There was just no consideration to the customer. NO thought about customer service, by the employees and management (except a couple of staff). Over half the time I arrived, none of the employees even smiled. Many of the evening employee’s attitudes were not very hospitable.
So, after reading other reviews and with my own experiences, in my opinion, I really don’t think upper management and/or the owners really cares about customer service. They say they do; they ALWAYS say they do, but these in my opinion do not. It’s just obvious. Of course, they probably do not even know what quality customer service really is, as with most companies today. I can only imagine how poor the service is in the food and beverage areas and other departments. In my opinion, they most likely feel that ‘if you build it, they will come’. That works in the short term, but it does not work in the long term.
Thank you for your time.
UPDATE: Just received an email from Legacy Sports. Not very positive towards me and condescending. To the person who replied to this review. I think you are talking about the rave reviews "on the facilities", not the customer service. Also. I sent this information two weeks ago to Legacy Sports, the executive assistant replied that it would be presented at the executive board meeting THAT afternoon. Yet, you know nothing about it. So, she lied? Or is there no communication between depts. And those rave reviews, your Yelp is 2/5, Fb 2.5/5, Google 3.5/5. Your ratings are poor to just okay. Upper management obviously, as others have said, JUST DON'T CARE! They are typical American managers and...
Read more4v4 Adult Volleyball needs some help. It definitely has the potential to be fun with some improvements....the organization was a mess. The tournament and bracket was written on a piece of paper (that was flowing between many individuals on multiple courts). Lots of people were very lost and didn't know where to go or who to play next. The man in charge was also playing which didn't help that situation. The details for the event online were also wrong. (6pm-10pm) didn't start playing until 7:50 and we finished our second game of single elimination at 11. (Apparently we were supposed to follow the social media posts of the Ascension Team to get the "exact time" which was different than the one on Legacy Sports Website) Also no details about the level of play when signing up and there wasn't a way to rank your team by skill level. So you can play a beginner team for 3 games 21-0 before you even play a team that you are equally matched with. I feel like most of these problems would be a quick fix with a simple tournament software app (like they do for the Legacy Pickleball Leagues) you sign up by your skill level and it matches you with other teams, you can input your scores (easier than chasing down a piece of paper) it tells you who your playing next and on which court. Also keeps you updated on when it starts every night and will alert you if it's pushed back to a later time.
To end this on a positive note...The atmosphere was very kind and the environment was super fun! Hopefully they can tune this up real quick with some tech so it's more efficient and organized. It's 2023..let's get some tech up in here to make it easier on everyone. (Including you Mr....
Read moreWhere to begin... for starters. This is my first time at this venue, and there are some things you should know if going there. It is paid parking. The paid side is a bit sketch to me. There i a qr code or a phone number to text the worg pay. That sends you a link. You put in your plate name and cc number to pay, and it starts a timer and then reminds you via text to remember to stop your parking. Im sure if you forget, you will continue to be charged. We went to the home and garden show. It wasn't bad. Although I have been to much better trade shows with more vendors. The vendor hall is literally inside the gymnasium as this is a sports complex, and the echo in there was horrendous. After 2 hours in there, two of us had to leave due to headaches. When purchasing the tickets it is card only at the gate.. this was also not noted on either the venue site or the event site. And the one day pass of 10$ also has tax on it ending up just over 11$ plus the 5$ for the day parking(plus tax) totaling almost 20$ for. 2 1/2 hiur visit. the reason we were going was to to see if the venue was worth going to as a vendor in October. Of the 4 that were there, we all decided that it was not going to be worth it for us. Others may feel more comfortable with it, but we will not be attending as vendors. We also just recently found out that the venue legacy park, is currently in bankruptcy and loosing massive amounts of money every month. ( this is public record just Google it) so as they say on short tank.... "and for these reasons, I'm out" u wish legacy part and all other events happening yhere the best of luck in thier future but this is not a venue I plan on...
