Main St Home Furnishings — Local services in Four Corners States

The wife and I moved to Burlington and needed a couch. We are huge advocates for supporting local businesses.

The initial service was easy. We walked in and found something to suit us quickly. We were written up for the sale and chatted up by the locals in decent time. They set us up for an in house payment plan for 12 months no A.P.R.

Within a few months there was a manufacturer's defect and the Ashley couch no longer would recline on one side due to a broken bracket. This seemed like a small issue that could be easily remedied.

We were told that Cody could do the repair in house. Perfect!

We called to follow up after a week and we're assured it should take about 3 weeks to get the part.

After a month we hadn't heard anything and had just been offered a different job back in Denver. So, we were feeling the pressure to get this rectified before we moved out and at this point we felt it would never be taken care of.... And who the hell wants to spend $1500 on a couch that doesn't work properly?

After several more phone calls, including to Ashley corporate in Denver, we weren't ever given anything but polite shuffling around by Tracy answering the phone at Main Street home furnishings and the unfortunate news that only this store could help us.

With one week left before or move we found out the truth was that there was a 12 week wait on parts... Not 3. This changed everything. The store had no interest in going to Denver (2.5 hours away) to repair the couch and we had even less in bringing it back for the same reason. It also seems they were worried we wouldn't pay the balance if we drove off with their ineffective sitting furniture.

So, we were offered the entirety of our payments back in exchange for the broken couch.... We did the exchange the day before we moved. Now we have $800 and no couch to sit on.

None of this is what we wanted.

But you.....you will have the opportunity to buy the couch we used for 4 months....I wouldn't pay full price for it, if I were you

Main Street Home Furnishings dropped the ball through poor communication. This all could have been avoided without their complacency and need to avoid confrontation instead of being grown up professionals.

The delivery guys however we're polite and...

I went in looking for a double recliner chair combo and table set that would fit in my camper. Everything was reasonably priced. I found what I was looking for fairly quickly. The ladies there are helpful and professional. The best part was being able to pick it up...
